Hello there,
I noticed that DoW1 is displayed on the store page as "TBA". If I remember correctly this page has been online for MANY months now without any new updates. So my question is, how long does it fucking take to re-release a game that is almost 20 years old and already available on Steam. I highly doubt that Sega will go the extra mile and enhance the game in any way.
Probably stripping out the boatloads of DRM it probably has, and they can't just strip out the multiplayer like they did with Space Marine since that would make half the reason for playing it pointless.

Finalzero: and already available on Steam.
If their version is DRM-Free, then we should really have it here already. If it's not, then who knows...

If I remember correctly the game used CD-Keys for validation. There are a lot of games like these here on GOG so I don't understand what is the problem especially when the game is already on Steam...
The announcement states already that crossover with Steam will not be possible, you can only play with other GOG users. Meaning: It will use Galaxy for Multiplayer.
The original (which I still have on CD) had LAN support for multiplayer.

I don't play the game for multiplayer anyway, I enjoyed the single player campaign a lot.
"Coming soon" doesn't mean just around the corner, at least not on GOG. It can mean anywhere from a few days to a few years.

As for why it's taking so long? Probably to implement online multiplayer.
As far as I can tell, there are only two possibilities:

1) They are taking extra long to gimp the game severely by removing all multiplayer elements from it (just like they did with Space Marine) or

2) They are taking extra long to do the work to add in full Crossplay with the Steam version, and are therefore not going to gimp the GOG release at all.

Hopefully 2) is what is happening, but I'd say 1) is more likely to happen (which if does, then that would make the game totally not be worth buying on GOG, and hence make the extra long delay would be uber-pointless and also quite laughable, LOL).

Indeed it does. However, it's possible that since making that announcement, they have realized that the game is going to be DOA and flop hard unless they reverse course and do the right thing by adding full Crossplay (not that I think that is what will happen...but it is possible).

Well, when another store that told me a game was coming soon. They took over 6 months to release the game. Both stores must have reasons as why games take so long.

They're definitly not implementing their own authentification system for such an old game, so if EOS is ok ... sure, why not.
But then we have people complaining about DRM again.
