qwixter: So I have a fondness for Bards since the first CRPG that I played was bard's tale on C64 and I played a bard in early EQ1 days. I kind of feel like playing a game as one, and I wish to avoid D&D based games, as I have already played/tried most of them. Also, I am saving the bard's tale games for BT IV which I backed.
All these Final Fantasy games have bards as a class

qwixter: I think the only FF game that I have tried was one released for the PC around 2000. FF VI?
I think it was VII because I remember that one having a really bad bug at a certain point in the game.

markrichardb: VII was the first official Final Fantasy game to get a PC release as far as I know, but it released in 1998 (and had that game-breaking chocobo race bug) where as VIII released in 2000.
Ah OK, I was off by two years :) Well, for me the game-breaking bug in the original FFVII was when you finally got the rocket and you have this whole launch cutscene. The game got stuck there and that was pretty much it for me and any further Final Fantasy games as I was already growing out of the FF games anyways.
