Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

I must tape up my fingers in anticipation of what's to be another Insomnia Sale. My fingers must be at the ready for all that clicking!

show-off! ;-P
Oh, if only the good people at GOG would say screw it and run Insomnia a week early. Damn it.
If nothing else, the stockpile of coffee and soda is here, so I'll be ready for a few days of sleepless twitching spastic shopping madness enjoyment.

But the money is not for another week, give or take, so... NO, next week, please! ;-P

Spring Insomnia got a mention before it happened if I remember correctly. So I figure we'll all get a few days warning at least. Hopefully. Always helpful to get as much sleep as possible beforehand.

No you don't...

*waves hands in front of Niggles' face*

You wish it were on a Wednesday because it is one day after you get paid, and co-incidentally my pay day.

*triple back-flips off screen*
I hope they ditch the "fast enough" freebies though... even with my fast connection, good reflexes and fast machine it was STILL impossible to get anything.
Often you'd hardly even see the title if you blinked.

What they did with the Spring titles (random on buys) was far superior IMO.

I, for one am hoping the Cinemaware titles are also included in the mix.

I received an email about a week in advance of the spring insomnia sale. I had actually found GOG looking for a older version of Settlers 2 about 2 weeks prior. Got the email and popped in during the middle of the sale, been stuck here ever since LOL

They'll probably use the system from Spring Insomnia Sale, when there were more opportunities to get a free game every time a new game showed up.

I'm so excited about Insomnias :D

An interesting statement, when it's taken out of context. :P

Are you saying that you did receive an email about the Spring Insomnia Promo?
I can't recall getting one. Is it possible that I didn't pay any attention whatsoever to that email? Sounds impossible. ↁ_ↁ

I just had a look and I only got one email notifying me of the Insomnia sales, and both were "Insomnia sale has started!".

Unfortunately I don't have the email anymore to see when I received it. I am basing it off of memory, and that is sometimes sketchy LOL

Rereading your previous post:
Got the email and popped in during the middle of the sale
I'd say that this is more in line with what katya_stevens posted, and it was not in advance.
That would also explain why I don't have any recollection of it - I was probably already here, franticly clicking on titles and chatting in the tracker thread, when I received the email and just deleted it as old news. ;-P
