dudalb: That was incredibly stupid of Telltale. What kind of freaking legal advice were they getting to let this happen? Or did some idiot ignore what their lawyers said?
Sad about Telltale.. I enjoyed a lot of their games. but doing something as stupid as violating a NDA really cools my sympathy for them.
There was never any sympathy from me for Telltale as a studio. Their games were horrid cookie cutter repetitive drivel and the people who deserved to lose on this deal walked away with their pockets stuffed whilst refusing to pay the people toiling to make their slop the money they deserved. Telltale rightfully died in a fire. I'm just sad about the talented programmers and creative designers and such that got shafted for nothing more than putting their faith in Telltale to do something good, or at least look out for them should the company get in trouble.

NuffCatnip: Do we get a refund if we purchased the final season of The Wwalking Dead?

Bloodygoodgames: Wouldn't think so. Or expect it.

Telltale is basically in bankruptcy. The scumbags running the company haven't even paid their staff what they properly owe them, so wouldn't imagine anyone will be getting refunds.

And it's certainly not GOG's fault. So they shouldn't have to lose money on the deal.

That is just the risk you take when you buy episodic games. Just one of the many reasons why I never buy them.
same here, no eps for me , only games that are complete and do not need more parts

Shouldnt this be front page news on GOG ? this is important .... i noticed a Dutch page, imagine that, had to read this news on a Dutch page, i seldom visit pages <> english cause its mostly boring and all the so called ' reality news' will be shown on the Dutch NPO channels ( which almost no one watches cause they are quite boring and dull)

check this English news: https://variety.com/2018/gaming/news/telltale-games-liquidation-1203029187/
which i had to Google for cause i get to see local ( Dutch) news first ( because of the ip location ofcourse :D

Anyway, Steam pulls the games .... unless they covered their big huge large behinds, they ought to refund the games.... but they probably have huge disclaimers telling gamers they only have one right which is to be silent and pay. Games that have to be pulled.... on Steam .... i assume GOG and others will alos have to pull them ?

Is/are there a / any topic(s), official new on GOG ? fornt page or so, or any place where users can see it?
I bought the wolf game at 5 euros because everyoine was so happy with it, i tried the game and i hid it, imho the game is meh, so i dont mind if they pull the game, and do not refund.

The third episode of the Walking Dead: The Final Season has finally received a release date: 15th January 2019. So, not quite by the end of the year as Kirkman had hoped, but close enough.

It's been two months. Do we know if the Telltale games (other than The Walking Dead, which is now in another studio's hands) will be removed or will stay in the store?
Well TellTale is a skeleton crew now, so it's probably not going away... I'd guess it's going to milk current franchises for a while until they have money to do another game, though when that is i couldn't tell you with how their management apparently was.

Decided to try 'The Wolf Among Us'... finding i hate that form of story telling. it's a mixture of point & click and QTEs that annoys me. Also i hear a number of your 'choices' don't really matter, it's minor branching but the story doesn't really change, making false choices available is a waste of time.

Telltale games never had choices that had long term affects even at their peak. If they give you the choice to kill someone and you spare theem it's guaranteed they will die immediately afterwards anyways.

So i've heard. I don't like false choices. Split the story into multiple if you have to. Or just make it a movie...

Right now watching it. It's 7 hours long, more a mini-series at that length. Plus i don't have to do any stupid QTEs now.

I'd have had more fun if it was more like Groundhog's day, where you can act on things on a NG+ or second run after a Game Over based on knowledge, and that knowledge opening up options. Hell, perhaps The Dead Zone would have been a perfect fit for that. And if you miss a major detail... see the results (bad as they are) unwind in the news or newspaper.

Sorta reminds me of being a DM for ADnD 2E; I had hid several magical items in a room for players. They missed the +2 dagger hidden under the table. I couldn't tell them or hint it was there, so just shrugged my shoulders and let them keep going, realizing, you can't give them everything you planned on. Course if they just 'detected magic' or passed their search checks i'd have spelled out where everything was.
So, if I bought a Telltale game here today, who'd get the money?
