sojuicysweet: Nope:

(I made a new thread so this thread can die so that users wont have to read through this thread just to find the truth)
Comprehension isn't your strong suit. They're laying everyone off except a skeleton crew to meet existing obligations (so their executives can make off with the money instead of getting sued into the poorhouse) and that's it. That's shut down...

Linko90: I understand a dislike towards their products, but you're celebrating people losing their jobs. Come on now :P
I'm sad that people have lost their jobs but I'm glad that can't rip anyone off any more like they did.

Telltale and I have a... history.

HunchBluntley: "People in charge made poor creative decisions" (and that's a highly subjective opinion) does not equal "everyone working there deserves to lose their job".
Exulting over other people's misfortune is tasteless and petty.

paladin181: You're right. It's pretty tasteless. There's a term for that, Schadenfreude. I personally don't know why I do that some times. [...]
We all have those moments. Human nature, probably (I would say) exacerbated by the current sociopolitical mood, where any party one even mildly dislikes or disagrees with is branded other, the enemy.
Kudos for at least admitting your momentary jerkitude, rather than doubling down on it and trying to paint it as a virtue. : )
not sure if their closing is due to lack of sales but Im one of those customers that quit buying the series, too many glitches, too many ruined save games, too hard to port the saves, too much sales gimmicks on the home page.... ugh. i liked the genre well enuf to have bought alot of them but stopped due to all the crap in the way of the stories
That's a shame. I was looking forward to playing the last season of TWD once it was complete. Guess that'll never be finished now. =/
I loved The Wolf Among Us. RIP. :(

There's a skeleton crew of 25 people left who'll be working on finishing it. Whether it'll be any good - ...

Meh. I enjoyed TellTale's early efforts, but didn't care for the direction they took after Jurassic Park.
Huh. Was always on the fence with these games (they're not really my "thing") but the Game of Thrones one always interested me (huge fan). And The Wolf Amoung Us seemed like a pretty surreal and unique premise.

Might have to snag one or two before they go.

Also - what Sam and Max / Monkey Island games did they do?

They screwed you over with the free DVDs too, didn't they? They did that to me. I've never bought a game from them at full price since.

tremere110: I'm waiting for the "THQ Nordic acquires Telltale Games" post.
Problem is Telltale Games doesn't have anything they could buy, all their games are based on various licensed media they don't own.

Thanks Gonchi that's exactly the reply I was looking for. I always meant to pick up Beyond Time and Space (I like the nod to Lovecraft). Might be about that time. Will have to see what the deal is with that Monkey Island thing as well.
Nice!

You know what pleases me most about this? I will never again have to suffer the crushing disappointment of opening the gog main page and going "Wow, some eagerly anticipated IP has finally arrived on gog! Oh, hold on... Crap, it's one of those shitty QTE-ridden Telltale tie-ins!"

Never again! :D

That's one of the things they did, they also removed games from my account there.

paladin181: It might seems harsh, but when people do a bad job, they should be fired. A job isn't a right or an entitlement, You have to earn it. At least you should have to earn it. If I did a shitty job at my current employment, I would be looking for another one because my services would not be retained.
But imagine if it wasn't you, but your superior who did a shitty job. And you was fired for it. That's essentially the situation for most Telltale employees.
