boztix: What solution has gog.com given to this problem?

I have read many things here, I do not know if they will be true but I think gog has some things to improve so that developers are more comfortable on this platform.

On the other hand it is sad that there are developers who want to be in gog, with small indie games that are creating a good community behind them and whose games are not on gog.com because they have rejected them and that a developer whose game is accepted wants to leave and abandon the development of his game in gog.
What's worse is that gog can quickly gain a bad rep among devs over these issues. I heard a rumor that they already have, but i haven't seen the evidence, myself.

eisberg77: yes, that is the one I was talking about. Thank you.

I don't have the GoG release of that game, so I wonder if they got that massive lag resolved?
I have played that game, the first two weeks since it got out of InDev there were a lot of updates and to me it seems like it was a few hours delay at the most. The game is fully patched up in case you decide to get it here.
I don't really get the two platforms equals twice the work logic. If you have the correct interface, plugging in a different backend for achievements/cloud saves etc. should be trivial.
Also In Dev titles aren't very popular around here (I know I don't like paying for beta testing). So maybe a dev should've suspended InDev, wrap it up on GOG after the game is finished, then sell it as a finished product.

I might buy it here some day. The only reason why I bought it on Steam is because I have Wallet money still in my account from Gift Cards I got last Christmas. I still have $40 in my Wallet over on Steam, I'll probably use that to buy Biomutant.

kohlrak: This behavior must've been changed, then.
If we need more proof. The Life Blood Update for Hollow Knight launched 2 hours ago at the same time on both Galaxy and Steam.

elcook just gave a lot more info here: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_is_it_truly_more_difficult_for_developers_to_update_their_games_on_gog/post71
I do not know if the developer will abandon gog. But if it does, I hope that gog will value more to many developers who want to be on their platform, who want to sell their games without drm, who have small user communities but who are growing and who value being on a platform like gog.

As for the affected users, the logical thing is to delete the game from their library (it does not make sense to have an unfinished game in your library for life) and to get the money back.

That if the developer abandons gog can generate distrust in future users of the platform because it would create doubts about the future support that gog games can receive from its developers.

TBH, I'm not sure how much of this can be believed, but by the same token, people whining about an in development game not being finished seems entirely plausible.

It never ceases to amaze me how immature people have gotten over the last few decades.
