I went to the Solasta game forum and it was a ghost town, so I'll ask here in hopes that someone has played the EA game...

Any thoughts on Solasta after having played in EA? Does it feel like a game that people should "take the plunge" in EA, wait for release, or not play at all? Interested in any thoughts!

Many thanks.
Reviews seem potentially positive, but why would I spend 30$ for an Early Access game after getting burned by the likes of Slime Rancher & Starbound?

Major complaint appears to be that the dice can be troublesome, so savescumming may be encouraged.

99% of the time I'd say just wait for release. There's so much "Early Access" stuff whose end product didn't match the marketing brochures...
I have been playing it since EA release on Steam I didn't know if GOG was going to get it or not and I didn't feel like waiting. It just got a big spring update a couple days ago and now they working on a hotfix I think for some issues that cropped up with that. If they haven't patched it already I need to check. I have been pretty happy with it so far and am glad I bought it when I did. I just see it getting better down the road. They have with the Spring Update added a * beta version* dungeon creator although I don't really know much about that its not something I am too interested in.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Since Realms Beyond seems to have fizzled, I'm looking harder at Solasta...

A lot of elements I like -- although the character design sure isn't one of them!

Found this out about the Dungeon Creator:

It will eventually have both story and dungeon-creation functionality -- so you will be able to create entire adventures. Those will be able to be traded. On Steam dungeons will be traded via Steam Workshop. On GOG you will probably have to "trade" via internet mod sites, but you will be able to do that.

TBH the Dungeon Creator is a huge selling point for me... and something I never knew I needed.

Yes, understand that feeling... but IMHO Solasta seems pretty close to the finish line... and from what I've heard the release price might go up by a substantial percentage.

Yes, I usually agree. That money might be more wisely spent on something complete like Pathfinder Kingmaker

I've got the game here on gog as well. I love'd it! Played through the whole of early access. As I've said it doesn't have the biggest budget and highest graphics but it's a great game in it's own right.

Yeah, I planned on buying it along with some sale items today but woke up this morning to find the game went from $27.99 to $39.99. Too rich for my blood ATM. Game looks great... in time I guess...

Really don't like that they upped the price when the game is still in EA!

I understand upping on release, but in EA?

(and yes, I know to some this sounds like too much complaining or "nitpicking" over $12, but when you have limited budget to spend on games...)

Looks like you just missed the sale. The price is planned to increase the closer to release as more content is added. At the moment it has around 20 hours of content and there's a dungeon maker editor.

I understand people on low incomes and who have to budget.

Well, I was under the understanding that the game would stay the same price in early access and then go up in price upon release.

I still think it's borderline shady to change prices upward during EA. Personally I don't remember seeing that happen before...?

Not so much an issue of income as much as an issue with budget for games.
