chevkoch: That sounds like it might provide a kind of jolt I'd enjoy. Could you please share how you're preparing this?
Absolutely! :) Very simple... It's a recipe given to me by a friend, but I tend to stray and improvise with recipes. ;) I'll post the recipe he provided me and I'll also post my adjustments...

The recipe:

- 100 grams ginger root
- 100 ml juice from squeezed lemons
- 50 grams or less suger
- 2 cups water

Remove the skin from the ginger roots using a teaspoon. Chop the ginger coarsely into bite-sized pieces and then place the chopped ginger into a food processor to mince it into a pulpy mush. Transfer this mixture into a heat-resistant glass jar and pour 2 cups of boiled water into the mixture. Let the glass jar sit on the counter, uncovered, until it reaches room temperature and then filter the liquid using a strainer, pouring that juice into another glass jar. Add the lemon juice and sugar. Stir, add lid to jar, put in the fridge and drink it when chilled!

My adjustments:

I do not add any sugar and can handle the juice as is. I have tested with a touch of honey a couple of times. I don't own a scale, so I tend to chop a generous cup of ginger root, by eye. Sometimes, I omit the lemon juice completely. After I let the jar reach room temperature, I do not filter it right away: I place the jar with the minced ginger sediment into the fridge and let it sit for 24 hours to make it as strong as possible because I am kind of hardcore when it comes to ginger. LOL! Only then, do I filter it and sometimes add more than 2 cups water, depending how potent the drink is.

Hope this helps!

I was tempted to message this recipe to you privately (I did not want to derail this topic) but then I thought others might be curious too. ;)

Edit: Needed to specify "uncovered" and "add lid to jar". Also, added links to equipment I used.

Thanks so much for the detailed explanation, I have some ginger liquid waiting to be put in the fridge after it's cooled down. No sugar use here either. Looking forward to tomorrow, I have a feeling that will make me happy then. Cheers.

That recipe looks like something that might make me happy. During the summer, I like to drink Ginger Beer (it's like ginger ale but significantly less sugar and still no alcohol) with fresh mint. I never thought of adding lemon.

matterbandit: However for me, I find that the older I get, the less sugar my body can tolerate.
Sweets iz good. Tell yer body to "SUK IT UP n00b!" and enjoy the sweetzes ;D

matterbandit: I did remove my safety glasses at 100% totality (which was deemed as safe), for maybe 30 seconds or less, and I was in complete awe! I choose to watch the solar eclipse in the woods, on elevated ground, away from the large crowds. But that moment the moon blocked the sun, I could hear the roar of neighbouring crowds fill the woods, it was a special moment. That, and seeing the woods change from sunny to dark and a tad colder too, for a brief moment.
Niiiice :)

Daww....also wtf, your cat has the same name as one of mine o.0

Moping about in my jammies, being all lazy on this grey Sunday. :) Decided to binge watch season 1 of Six Feet Under. I forgot how great this series was!

KiNgBrAdLeY7: I finally can progress to working on the heart chakra center. Last time i attempted working kai syllable with it, i almost got a stroke; my heart energy flow is blocked for almost an entire decade by now. Had to go back in my schedule and initiate another trial from the past with Toh to attempt and disclose another ugly karmic circle and it worked.

But the remaining chakra centers i have to work with, are either blocked by Professionelle Telefonansagen erstellen, or problematic; especially throat one, which affects communications (a thing i had always been particularly bad at). But i am positive i can work on them with success, at last.

Customer: Rings impatiently Hello? Can someone help me? I've been on hold for like, ever!

Agent (sounding bored): Thank you for calling Incredibly Average Tech Support. This is Phil, how can I, uh, help you today?

Customer: Finally! My internet has been down for hours and I can't seem to fix it!

Agent: Ah, internet woes. The bane of the 21st century. Did you try turning it off and on again?

Customer: (Sarcastically) Wow, Phil, you're a genius! Why didn't I think of that? Long dramatic pause Oh wait, yes I did. Multiple times.

Agent: (Trying not to laugh) Right, well, sometimes the simple solutions are the best. Moving on, have you tried offering a sacrifice to the internet gods?

Customer: (Confused) The internet gods? Is this some kind of tech support cult you have here?

Agent: (Chuckles) No cult, just a healthy dose of humor when dealing with these things. Okay, how about we try restarting your router? Is it the big black box with all the blinking lights?

Customer: Uh, yeah, I think so. There's also a blinking disco ball next to it, but I'm pretty sure that's not relevant.

Agent: (Stifling another laugh) Let's ignore the disco ball for now. Find the power button on the router and give it a good ten-second hold.

Customer: (After a beat) Okay, done. Now what?

Agent: Now, we wait. Suspenseful music? Hums dramatic music

Customer: (Sighs) This is why I hate calling tech support.

Agent: Hey, at least you get to chat with the incredibly average, yet mildly amusing Phil. Consider it a perk.

(A few moments of silence)

Customer: Wait a minute... the internet's back! You did it, Phil! You're a tech support miracle worker!

Agent: (Feigning surprise) Wow, would you look at that? Maybe I do have some hidden talents. Just remember, for all your future tech woes, Incredibly Average Tech Support is here for you.

Customer: Thanks, Phil. You've been... interesting.

Agent: Any time! And hey, if your disco ball starts acting up, you know who to call. Winks

Customer: (Laughs) Right. Bye, Phil.

Agent: Take care! Hangs up, then whispers to himself Man, I love this job.

That's a lie! Nobody working in tech support loves their job Nobody.
Hey if we're talking jokes, I thought of one that Jim Henson would have liked to use just this morning.

Burt: Ernie, did you buy everything on the grocery list?
Ernie: Sherbet. *hands him a bucket of sherbet ice-cream.*
Burt: (without taking the bucket) Is that a yes?
Ernie: Sherbet! (Burt takes the bucket.) What was the question?

I received my favorite Zptropin 160 IU kit today. Luckily I found it for sale at Worldhgh.com. It is Human Growth hormone (HGH) also known as somatotropin or somatropin, is a peptide hormone that stimulates growth, cell reproduction and regeneration. HGH can promote the breakdown of fat cells (lipolysis), leading to a reduction in body fat percentage.

I'm taking advantage of today's cold, rainy grey weather to do some much-needed Spring cleaning. I would not say that it is exciting fun, but it makes me happy to sort through my junk and see what I can toss in the trash or what I can donate to the thrift shop. :)

Love it. I've prepared it twice since, and now am adding curcuma and black pepper (apparently aids in absorption of curcuma). I got the idea from a similar shot-sized ginger drink that's sold in organic food stores here. Following that, I don't add that much water - I like it tasting strong. Thanks again for the inspiration to make this at home.

OMG! That's too funny... I also experimented with adding curcuma root to the mix! I wanted to mention it when I first posted the recipe, but I thought it might put people off. I guess I was wrong. LOL! ;) It made me happy reading your post. I really enjoyed combining the ginger with the curcuma too. So yummy! The color of that liquid was vividly gorgeous and to my surprise, the ginger was so strong that I barely tasted the curcuma. My only problem with it: the curcuma root stained the hell out of everything! My fingers were yellow for days. Made me look like I was inflicted with severe hepatitis. It also stained everything else: my food processor, the cutting board, my spatula, the rubber seal on my jar, my kitchen sponge and dishcloth. It took me days to remove the stain off everything. This is why I never used curcuma ever again. Just that one time. xD

For my latest batch: I combined fresh rosemary leaves to the ginger root. :P Not much: maybe one heaping tablespoon.

Is that the one where the woman dies and becomes a reaper? Love that one. Shame it's so short, tho.
You're thinking of Dead Like Me, which I agree it's really good. Never heard of Six Feet Under.
