It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Chocokyatto: Used the other downloader you guys have been suggesting. Got a checksum error after downloading for awhile. Is this the real life? I'm just gonna torrent the game at this point.
possibly a file issue server side , or just a temporary issue.

boths cases happened to me in the past, even when GOG still supported the downloader.

so if you can , retry (if your bandwith is quite correct , not in my case) with the downloader (gog's one)

but if it's a server side issue whatever you will do, won't work -> in this case a support ticket is the best course of action.

As suggested a third party download manager may work. Downloading through browser such large files if your download speed isn't good, isn't a good idea.

Well, they are talking about piracy ;)

Chocokyatto: Steam, direct downloads, 'other' downloads = never any problems

The second I use GOG my ISP has problems apparently lol. Maybe the problem isn't me and their servers are just terrible?
well, there you have it. go back to steam. thanks! nobody's stopping you.

but just in case you're not a lying bastard or trolloc, contact tech support like any normal human being would?

PookaMustard: I think GOG should support torrents as a means to download games.
That's a good point, and yes, Humble for instance support torrent downloads for their DRM-free games. It's very convenient and has built in integrity checking. Not sure whether you got a headdesk to the first part of your post or the second.

darthspudius: But when they pirate the game it is not their own copy they are downloading. They are not entitled to THAT download.
There is no such thing as 'your own copy' when the 0s and 1s are the same. What you own is a licence to use the software.

Don't be a dick, they are just trying to download the game they've bought. It is understandable one might feel irritated if it keeps failing with different options.

The old GOG legacy downloader client that people suggested didn't always work that great, I'd sometimes get aborted downloads that would have to be restarted from beginning.

To the OP, if you are still trying to download the offline installer version of the game, you can do that also with the Galaxy client. Check for the "backup", ie. don't install it with the client.

PookaMustard: Step 1. Download Free Download Manager. http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/
This!
I've been using FDM since GOG stopped with the GOGdownloader, it's almost as good torrenting, supports broken downloads, mirrors, data integrity check, etc.

I just make an identical copy of the nearest car. No need to steal the original!

a better example would be copying the firmware of the mediaplayer installed on the nearest car. but even then, you would have to break into the car or somehow remotely hack into the car's system. both actions are illegal in most countries..

Bit surely that car is locked down to a fingerprint, and upon starting has to download 6gb of pat he's to work, I mean only the car.client is in the physical copy.

Not really. At what point are you breaking into the software by downloading a copy of a program you have a licence to use?
Betas sux :)

no. i was talking about breaking into cars. there's no car-jacking license sold by general motors or whatever.

And how exactly does that fit into the analogy?
