I found an interesting link talking about the development of the game, and the sad fact that we probably won't get a remake in the traditional sense of the word :'(

That's okay I still have my copy of the original. :)
Relax.

Oh dear me, I so have to re-install this game later, I need to find where I put my copy of the fan made installer when I get home from work.

I've never played the game; I was kind of hoping the thread was about the movie...ooops.

It is very much worth getting, and it is playable if you download the fan-made installer for the game. Only problem I found was uninstalling the game, but that's a small quibble really.
Such a great game.

No shit? I'd heard mixed reviews but given your post I think I'll look into it. Knowing about the fan made installer helps because it's bugs was one of the glitches I'd heard about. Big thanks friend. I've only seen the movie a few kazillion times, might as well play the game. :D
Oh yes, absolutely awesome...
What I was most looking forward too though (and which sadly may already effectively be vaporware) was : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hstVnt4v4G4

Well I won't lie, it is a real "love it or hate it" game, but I greatly enjoyed it and it holds true to the Blade Runner universe without stepping on the toes of the film. Glad to be of service, I recommend the game immensely and hope you enjoy it. :)

Here is the link to my previous thread where some kind people posted that installer, as well as, other helpful tips and hints for it. :)

Mixed? the absolute bastards - They don't know what they are talking about :) From Commander Keen all the way up to Arkham City, Blade Runner wipes the floor with any game when it comes to atmosphere. It's not even that much of a game if I'm perfectly honest : more of a noir cinematic experience (by which I don't mean a lot of cutscenes) in a cyberpunk universe with saxaphone mood music from the film. Dammit but I've got to play this game again!
Sorry :P I'm a huuuge fanboy of the film and game - remember, Philip K Dick saw some of the pre-release footage of the world they envisaged for Blade Runner, and he approved wholeheartedly.

Oh and if you do want to play it, play it at night with a glass of wine/martini or whatever :P

The game is really very good IMO especially if you like point and click adventures anyway.
Mandatory BR joke:
I never liked the casting of Sean Young in that movie. There is no way a robot could ever be that stiff and lifeless. :P
I concur. That game is fantastic on many levels (gameplay, faithfulness, multiple moral choices and paths, atmosphere, etc). A real work of love.
