It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

tburger: Have you tried to disable hardware acceleration in Flash ?

Elinnea: Forgive my ignorance, but how do I do this?
When the video starts, right-click on the video then choose Settings, then you untick 'Enable Hardware Acceleration' under 'Display' tab.
YouTube is crippled, you can't possibly fix it. Google should, and they won't because they are all social now. Social assholes, that's it.

Cheers! It took a little while to figure out what you were talking about, because the first few videos I opened were all using HTML5 instead of Flash Player (apparently). It seems to have done the trick though.

I really ought to pay more attention to the current state of web video display, and what my browser is doing without my knowledge. :o
