Paper Sorcerer, a unique-looking grind-less mixture of RPG and adventure coming with more than 40 floors of dungeons filled with encounters, treasure, traps, and puzzles, is available 20% off on GOG.com, for Windows and MAC OS X. That's only $3.99 for the first week!

I've spent mosted of my mortal life researching the arcane arts, looking for ultimate power to grant me dominion over the world of men. Always buried in books I was. It seems only fitting, that one of the infamous grimoires became my prison. Oh, those accursed do-gooders had no idea what they were doing, trapping me in here. Yes, I might be locked away… for now. But I am locked away in the place that is one of the greatest sources of magical power that ever existed in the multi-planes. I refuse to acknowledge my imprisonment! I refuse to recognize all of the strange creatures of this world as threat! They shall become my minions, or they will become my prey. My enemies might have won a battle, but the war is still raging, away from the plain sight. Sooner or later, I shall bring it back to them, more powerful than ever!

Paper Sorcerer is a stylish single player turn based RPG focused on strategy, party-building, and environmental puzzles. Fight with the skills and spells you've learned in a battle system that emphasizes strategy over grinding. Assemble a party of monsters and dark creatures to fight alongside you. Explore and solve environmental puzzles to unlock secret paths and find extra loot! A double-sided adventure, an RPG with adventure game elements. Please note that the Paper Sorcerer Mini-Guide and Artbook will be added soon to the game shelf.

Dive deep in to the fascinating and surprisingly colorful (for a mostly monochrome game) world of Paper Sorcerer, for only $3.99 on GOG.com. The 20% release discount offer lasts until Tuesday, June 3, at 9:59AM GMT.

SpellSword: Any chance of also adding the game's soundtrack as bonus content? ^_^

Soundtracks are amongst my favorite types of additional content. -_^
That's actually being sold separately, sorry :(

Niggles: Yeah i can see that.. bit of a bugger...
Musicians need to eat too :)

Crosmando: Do Kickstarter backers get codes?
You should ask the dev about that :)
avatar
tburger: The GFX looks very stylish likely I'll pick it once GOG runs out of classics. But why all those new games do not come with manuals?
Because most of the time you have extensive tool tips, help menus, or the manual is in the game already somehow :)

Phaidox: Excellent, I've been looking forward to it for quite a while. Instant purchase. :)

Phaidox: Is there a chance of the soundtrack becoming available for purchase here at some point in the future? It'd be pretty convenient from the customer's perspective.
I don't know as of right now, sorry :(

tburger: Meh..it's just not the same.
If it's any consolation, there is a mini-guide coming around for the game :)

Grargar: Was your version from GamersGate?
avatar
IAmSinistar: Yes, it was. Known issues with that one?
We have version 2.3 on our site, so if your game was a lower version than that then the bugs are possibly fixed in our version.

IAmSinistar: According to GG their version is 2.1b, so the bug could be fixed then. I'd have to play it all the way through (and do the quest out of order) again to confirm if it's still there, though. :) Unless there is a changelog posted somewhere that lists all that has been fixed.

groze: I watched a twitch streamer I follow stream Paper Sorcerer, and the dev joined the casts in chat and was really cool and willing to answer our questions, criticisms and praising of his game.

This game is awesome, even if it hadn't been made by a single person. I remember asking him at the time if he was considering bringing his game to GOG and he said he wanted to, as he really loved the service in here, but he was having lots of trouble just with PR and having the game greenlit and all that crap -- he did all of that by himself, too.

I bought Paper Sorcerer from the dev's site when it was released, and even though I'm not a fan of first person perspective dungeon crawlers with turn-based combat and (some) random encounters, I absolutely recommend this game to anyone who's either a long time fan of "Choose Your Own Adventure" game books (the game takes place inside one of those books, and the art style -- again, done by the very same guy who did everything else -- is heavily inspired by the one those books had, with some Mike Mignola thrown in for good measure) or just a plain dungeon-crawler/RPG aficionado.

If there are indie people who definitely need supporting, it's these ones. I'm really sorry I forgot the guy's name, but you, sir who single-handedly made Paper Sorcerer, deserve our thanks and our support, and I can't wait until your next game comes out.
The dev's name is Jesse :)
