Sometimes, more of the same is the best sequel concept!

Zombie Shooter 2, the best possible continuation to the isometric trigger-happy mayhem with massive levels and RPG upgrade mechanics, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99.

Imagine yourself coming to visit an unknown city and seeing it almost ruined, with all the citizens turned into zombies. What will you do? Call for help, organize a large-scale rescue campaign or... Try to dig your way out of the situation, find out what happened and use your last chance to save the person you love! Zombie Shooter 2 is a unique blend of two game genres - Action and RPG. Every player can choose a character to their liking, get experience to develop skills, earn money and spend it at weapons, medications and useful devices. All of this will be used against thousands of enemies. The zombies fill the game screen, never letting you rest, even for a minute. On GOG.com the game comes complete with a full MP3 soundtrack!

With the release of Zombie Shooter 2, all of the triggerhappy classics from Sigma Team, that is Alien Shooter + Expansions, Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded, Zombie Shooter, and Zombie Shooter 2, receive a permanent 25% bundle discount on GOG.com.

SeduceMePlz: We still need:

2. The 'speech' folder from the original Alien Shooter 2: Vengeance added as a bonus to Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded to allow restoring the cut voice-overs if desired. (see here)
This has already been done, if I am not mistaken. There is a "Speech" folder in the Alien Shooter 2 directory with voice overs. Those should be from Vengeance.

IAmSinistar: Might pick this up if I ever get around to playing any of the games in these series. I have them, but you know, the backlog.

P1na: Just saying, but this seems like the kind game you only want to play the last and most recent of the series. I mean, as far as I can tell it's all about mindless shooting without much care of why, so might as well do so with the best tools and the most refined UI.
That is logical, yes. If they're all the same at heart, may as well go with the version that has the fewest flaws, assuming that is an accurate statement for this one. The benefit to playing the older ones is, well, I already have them. So at least they can give me a general idea as to whether I like the concept enough to splash out on the latest iteration.
Good release!

I'm curious though, are there any good PC zombie shooters that have co-op functionality?

Would the Chaos Engine count? or Shadowgrounds Survivor?

(I'm assuming you already know about the non-GOG Left 4 Dead series :D )

I've eyed Left 4 Dead on console, and Shadowgrounds is technically aliens I believe. Chaos Engine maaaybe, but I guess I was thinking more in the style of Zombie Shooter. I've played and enjoyed with my siginificant other Zombie Nation off the Playstation Network. Intense and fun. Too bad the Zombie Shooters don't have co-op.

Got the Alien Shooter games, and they're fun for what they are. I like the fact that it's a series you can pick up any time without needing to remember plot, key commands, how to play, etc. You know, the I-just-need-to-blow-shit-up-for-a-couple-hours type of game. Works for me.

Passed on Zombie Shooter at release but I'll likely pick up both ZS games down the road. For what it's worth, I prefer the simpler, brighter graphic style of the original AS, but that's me.

As to the "missing" extras, the games feel complete enough as they are presented here, though some extra content wouldn't hurt my feelings.

And the release schedule? My backlog just whispered to me that the spread-out release dates are just fine.

I much preferred the first ZS to its sequel. Sprites may be a bit more primitive in the original, but the game just felt better and played better IMO.
why u no Human Shooter? :P

Not as challenging as aliens or zombies. :)
I just noticed the memo regarding the permanent 25% discount. Is that why they don't show up as discounted ie highlighted?

Postal 1 and 2.
Must haves along with this game.

OH WAIT I see it.
25% off when you buy all of them. DUH.
It's tempting but I think I'll just snag ZS 2 for now.

It's a bundle discount - you must buy all games in this bundle to get discount. ;)

Its only about.... 93% mindless shooting. There is a (very) basic story, and you collect money to buy and upgrade weaponry (And your character).

serpantino: Why is gog taking so much time to release these? Games from the series have been in so many frigging bundles in various incarnations and they're all pretty much the same. They should all be released one at a time instead of wasting release slots on each one.
Feels like gog is just trying to disguise the fact they have a severe lack of content to release (and they keep promising great releases round every corner.) Too much time wasted on PR stunts and daft videos, not enough on games.
I have the same feeling about "rehashing" the Sigma shooter series... but I disagree about the PR stunts and videos, in fact they need to happen more frequently. Today was not a good one for releases here.
Hmmm, nonetheless this release pace agenda helps me with the backlog, so not bad at all.
For all the series I reccomend the Alien Shooter 2.

(cheap joke)
Oh no! ANOTHER game I never heard of before! Now I HATE GOG FOR DARING TO PUT IT ON THEIR SITE!
(/cheap joke)

Okay, okay, to those of you who saw my posts on these new game forums that said "Never heard of this before (yawn)" or something like that, let me explain. I was not trying to be negative, and neither did I mean that I hated/totally ignored the games because I never heard of them. I was merely commenting, and being (somewhat) jokeful. I acknowledge that I was being annoying in all these forum threads, but at least try to understand.

And yes I do look at the games I never heard of. For instance, the day Sid Meier's Covert Action (another game I haven't heard of) was added, I looked at it, and added it to my wishlist because it looks totally awesome. Re-Volt is another game I haven't heard of or seen before. I first saw it at GOG's winter sale, in one of their special bundles that they had. I bought it because it was cheap, and now it's one of my favorite racing games that I own. (Sure glad I picked it up too, since it's now temporarily removed from the catalog) Also Papers, Please. That's been in my wishlist for a while now.

Just trying to clear things up and explain that I actually do look at the games I never heard of, and also that I do consider buying them. Sorry to everyone who misunderstood my posts. Going forward, I intend not to keep doing it, but just understand that I was not trying to troll you guys. ;)
Wooo! More blam blams!
