EndlessKnight: I'll put my 2 cents in and bash Steam for two straight days of them not accepting my CC, while GOG will. They keep blaming the CC company and the company continually says that they aren't receiving any requests. Same card that I've used effectively on Steam last month. Silly Valve.

In a way, you're lucky that's the only credit card problems you've had with Steam. You're better off with a Paypal account if your bank supports direct debit.
i playing most multiplayer games so Steams DRM don't annoying me. Also it's possible to play single player without connection to internet so its very cool. BTW have all Valve games :D.
I prefer reatail games but when can't I have problem and then i buying on auctions: boxes, only codes or steam gifts. Don't have card ;p.
Dont have impulse so don't tell.

effing blizzard.......... basicly while i do have internet connection and it is enough to activate other games online the reason my game wont patch properly is due to authentication...........
I asked them if there was another way to get the game working, so... for now, im starcraft 2 less still :( untill either blizz figures out a solution for peeps who have crappy internet or ...something else.
Sigh........the patch downloads but because my internet is so shoddy, it times out calling their server...................................... even tho my game is registered to a bnet account........
ujhskdhakjdhdkhsahkadkjh sigh....
GOG with their missing Thursday's game release and the mysterious upcoming list.
And don't come up with " the staff is on vacation " answers.
ps. i have a bad day.

lackoo1111: Brad Wardell about the retail release of Elemental
Europe…Well, not so much. There are currently no plans to have a retail presence in Europe. I don’t want to talk too much about this lest I get into trouble but let’s just say, our previous games have been available in retail in western Europe and as much as we like making a nickel per copy sold, we think we’ll pass this time. The retail situation in Europe is just insane and in the age of digital distribution, we’re just not willing to put up with it anymore. One world. One price. If there’s anything that would make the lives of Europeans easier in terms of getting the game via Impulse, let us know. I know people.

Wow, the speed at which these game publishers think they can dismiss retail is amazing.
MP3s have been around for 10+ years and supposedly have taken over all music sales, yet I just read an article a week or so ago on CNN that showed 80% of music sales are still on CD. People like packaging, they like a product they can hold, I don't know why game companies think they can completely dismiss this.
Regarding the credit card issues that I've been dealing with at Steam... The support rep at Steam is ignoring all my reports and inquiries now, posting the same copy & paste statements, though I've verified and have been able to dismiss them all. He also refuses to answer my request for a phone number so that I can do a conference call with the CC company and Valve to solve the situation. What vomitous support.

EndlessKnight: snip

Go to the forums, select the "view forum leaders" link right at the bottom of the forum listing, and find a Valve staff members to PM. Probably the only way you'll get it sorted. That, and open a complaint with the BBB at the same time.
Seems that Ubisoft do not want to sell anything digitally in Ireland. Ok Ubisoft. Ok,

Oooo, does that mean I can buy Elemental in dollars?
Yeah, didn't think so. What a bunch of hot air.

I'm fed up with game developers (sequels, remakes, sequels, remakes, porting games to iPhone,Facebook, etc.,castrating games to fit for console fans,3D,PhysicX,graphics over gameplay,multiplayer,co-op) and publishers(stupid region restrictions,1$=1€ bullshit).I'm missing the old days, when developers were full with fresh ideas and the golden age of the single player games.

I like steam, but one day all my games began to run at about 11 fps, making them unplayable. I put in a support ticket, and got an answer like "your computer is not meant for gaming, which is hy the games are running slow" even though all the games had been running fine at max settings (stalker, star wolves 3, etc...)
I told them this and they told me to install a driver cleaner and reinstall the drivers. Following the instructions to a T I managed to F**k up my computer so badly I had to do a reformat, losing everything as I had lent out my external hard drive, and had no way to back up.
After that though the games worked fine again, but it took several hours to get back to normal.
GOG in the other hand has yet to cause a problem

What an idiot. And I thought Stardock were cool. Not using Impulse anymore for anything.
(Brad has said lots of shit in the last few weeks)

The second customer service rep at Steam produced results. They actually read what I typed, answered my questions in a direct manner and got my CC issues solved. (Payment issues that many are experiencing apparently.) So, thanks Bansama. ^_^

When an industry figure keeps waffling long after people have stopped caring then it's a sign things are not going well. The fact Brad has contradicted himself on record several times shows that Stardock clearly have no direction. It's Steams fault, It's the retailers fault, it's the publishers fault... blah, blah, blah.

Uh, Brad? How about you make them available to Europeans? Oh and one price doesn't mean one number with the relevant currency symbol slapped on in front of it, okay?

I'd take that as a compliment. As the rest of us they clearly regard as mugs.
