THE BIZARRELY BONZA BONANZA BAZAAR OF BAZOOKERY! ...GIVEAWAY! #6

I've seen many post in the last few weeks asking for Torchlight but no one has asked for it in the above give away since I donated it. I'm not doing this post for rep as I did get that Torchlight GOG key for free (of the 4 games I donated I only paid for one), I just do not understand why no one wants it. I have it in my library and it seems like a fun game for the short time I spent on it. The only reason I did not spend more time on it is that all my gaming time is currently spent of finishing two games that are infinitely re-playable. I'll know I'm finished with both when I feel like I'm finished with them. (the two games are Civ V with most DLCs and Sword of the Stars: The Pit with all DLCs)

Thank GOG the other games I donated are all gone otherwise my doctor would have more work.
It's not the fact that no one wants it, it's that fact that everyone has it. Finding a user on the forums that still doesn't own it is quite a rarity. The game was given away for free 2 twice and you should also take in consideration the many people who purchased it previously. In the end you have a lot of Torchlight keys left.

Torchlight is an awesome game, and quite possibly one of the better games in the GOG store. I'd put it in the top 10 list for sure. The game is not only quite popular but it has also appeared now in two giveaways by GOG, one that lasted for an entire day or two quite a while back, and the flash sale promo from the Summer sale. The more popular a game is combined with it having been a mass freebie promo twice over time means that a large number of people already have it. Of course there are tonnes of people out there that don't own it already and might want it too. Anyone who has an account that was created at a date later than either promo for example, or someone who was unaware of the promos when they occurred and missed out, etc.

People who enter the forum giveaways are also people more likely to frequent the forums regularly though too, and they are likely to also be more likely to already own Torchlight either from one of the previous promos, or from someone else who picked up spare codes for it passing them a code already. They are potentially more likely to choose a game in the giveaways which is not as commonly offered in giveaways in the forums, or perhaps one they desire more greatly - knowing that Torchlight isn't too hard to come by being a common freebie/giveaway/gift item.

I've got a handful of Torchlight keys myself, and occasionally hand one out when I see someone who needs one and is eager to play the game or who just missed out on a promo or something. Just keep your eyes peeled in just about any threads and you'll spot someone here or there asking for Torchlight sooner or later and be able to put a smile on their face. :)

Generally speaking though, games that have been offered as freebies by GOG in the past usually end up with less interest from people in giveaways. That's good for people who missed out and want them too though as they tend to have less competition for them. ;)
