TES: Oblivion

That game needs mods to be half decent. At first i played it unmodded but over time when ive went back to it i install more and more mods for it to sustain my interest. At last count i had over 60. Not one of them is a nude mod or any of that crap.
Doom, I have played hundreds and hundreds of mods for that game over the years and I have yet to stop. I can also be part of that black sheep crowd that enjoys Brutal Doom, but that's mostly because I played vanilla Doom so much that Brutal Doom makes things different, in a good way.

Zurvan7: not including the retarded nude mods
BlueMooner made a good point in another thread that perpetual underpants are an immersion killer. Although, the types of nude mods run the spectrum from "no underpants" to "outrageously unlikely body proportions".

JMich: Jagged Alliance 2. Now where are the rest of its modders...
Um, I have no modding skills, but I've been loving 1.13, et al, for many years now. Should I feel guilty (for not helping), or just thankful?
BG2 for sure. Love all the tweaks
Sykrim, all day, everyday. Well, not everyday nowadays, but before- yeah.
Skyrim -- having more fun with the mods than playing the main quest (hardly touched it)

Sorry but I never understood the concept of nude mods and never will :p I don't see NPC having underwear when you loot their armors being an immersion killer. But it's personal taste I guess :)

Same thing with me for Oblivion! I played it for 5 years before I finished it and Morrowind was almost as bad. That's why I still don't own Skyrim. I know what's going to happen :S

For the most part, I don't even notice. However, a prime example of when I did was in Dragon Age: Origins. I was immersed in the story and enjoying the interactions with my companions with hints of a possible romance to come. When it finally did happen and there was a "love scene" with underpants, I realised that the game was treating me like a 5 year old child and totally killed the immersion. I would have preferred to have the scene left out entirely than have that rubbish.

Because you know... being able to pickpocket cloths right off of NPC's doesn't already do that (in regards to Skyrim) haha :P But I get where their coming from.

Same for me. Initially i thought "Wow nice artwork"...and after checking a few mods, i found the companions/followers (why do they have both categories???) which had backstory and depth + dialogue/interaction appealed to me more than just the visual/nudes/busty ones. Admittedly some of the artwork is pretty amazing (face+figure) ....:)

Dzsono: Um, I have no modding skills
That I find hard to believe.

Let's see what categories one can help with.

1) Coding. This does require some C++ knowledge, but code is quite readable. There are also people willing to help with code problems
2) Items. Biggest pain is the images. If you can create good looking images, you can add items to the game.
3) Tilesets. Not the same as items, but quite close. While items refer to inventory items, tilesets refer to map items (tables, chairs, doors etc). Again, images, though there is a bit of structure that has to be done (wouldn't want a brick wall bullets ignore now, would we?)
4) Portraits. Images again, along with a bit of animation. JA2 has a quite distinctive style, but new faces are always welcome.
5) Voices. Grab a mike, ask for a spreadsheet with a merc's lines, and record your own. Extra voices (especially for IMPs) are more than welcome. There are also a few bigger mods that are always looking for voice actors
6) Mapping. Smeagol and Zombiehunter seem to be the active mappers at the Pit atm, but if you can map, you will be one of the highly praised members.
7) Writer. We need taunts and hints. Assuming you have a recent copy of 1.13 (aka not 4870), take a look at Data-1.13\TableData\EnemyTaunts\EnemyTaunts.xml and Data-1.13\TableData\LoadScreenHints.xml

There are probably a few more things you could do and be able to contribute to the modding of 1.13, it all boils down to how much time you can afford to contribute :)

I did a course in C++ a very long time ago; Like, 15 years ago. I don't really remember anything. I probably can't even read and understand it anymore, at least not to a level that would be more helpful than burdensome.

Art/visuals - I have no talent in this area whatsoever. Give me a call if you want to break JA2 ;)

Audio and writing I can definitely help with, plus the manipulation of data tables is straightforward enough!

Thanks for writing this mini list. You've filled me with optimism that I can be more than just a leech! Is your username the same on The Bear's Pit?
Anything by Bethesda! Like you it always starts off to fix something :-P
I had a blast downloading and trying to mod for Oblivion and Skyrim.
Nothing major do to lack of knowledge or skills, but crap I made and posted on the Nexus sites.

Included two images of the mods I made:

Yeap. And should you encounter any trouble with the XML Editor, send me a yell.
