I've just started the game and made a couple of saves in the camp. I have a weird loading issue though and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

When I start the game (first load) the load screen seems to hang, by that I mean it loads and loads and I never get into the game. The solution as I found out is to CTRL+ALT+DEL, start Task Manager, and then quit it and go back to the game. This window switching fixes it and I get into the game a few secs after that.

Consequent loads are fine, the game gets loaded in around 5-7 secs, it seems that only the first load is affected. Also if I start a new game, it's fine. Only when I first load an existing save.

I have an SSD but the game is not installed on it, it's on a secondary HDD. Not much other software installed except NOD32 antivirus, I've tried disabling it, but it didn't fix anything.

Hardware:
Sapphire AMD 6870 Toxic / Intel Core i5 2500K / Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5 / 16GB RAM

Win7 64bit / latest AMD drivers from AMD site / Witcher2 Retail Patch 1.2

Anyone?
I've been having the same exact issue. Haven't been able to find a fix yet. It doesn't seem like a very widespread problem.

I also have the game installed on an external HDD. Perhaps that's the problem?

Edit: There is a very easy way around this issue. You don't have to Control-Alt-Delete at all. Simply Alt-Tab out of the game and open it up again. It's a nuisance, sure, but nothing major.
