Add 'liberated' games that were re-released as freeware or opensource and give it for free with extra bonuses and goodies
Yep, I'll even pay a little to have them here.
Even if we need to pay a few bucks for their amazing work I wouldn't mind
yes, this would be great but honestly, i would be fine with paying a buck or two for them after all they gotta pay the bills.
Yeah, Would be awesome to see Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam again THANK YOU FOR SERVING GOD BLESS YOU
If they're good..well..sell 'em..doesn't have to be free of charge..
To the pl on here: They can't run on empty..
I'd rather pay $0.50 to let them update and distribute the game and provide goodies like soundtracks.
Unfortunately the "complete list" link is now broken. Here's a different (not complete) list of liberated games: www.freegamesutopia.com/free-games/?idt=6&ids=4&status=liberated
Adding a classification to mark a game as "provided but unsupported" could assist with this wish.
For those who care about GOG Galaxy, this would add more game options for them (note I'm not one of them) at no cost and theoretically no support burden for GOG either (past Galaxy client integration).
I'd be willing to pay for GOG to take these games and update them with an easy install package plus goodies.
GOG should even go one step further, and be a active part in "liberation" and preservation of classic games via their source code, see this connected wishes: www.gog.com/wishlist/site/travel_back_in_time_to_acquire_lost_source_codes www.gog.com/wishlist/site/obtain_source_code_for_games_where_possible www.gog.com/wishlist/site/add_feature_to_unglue_a_gamelanguagesource_code
Arx Fatalis is an good example, Open source (and therefore patched by arx-libertatis.org/ ) while commercially distributed here by GOG. A win-win situation for everyone (developer, gamers, GOG)! :c)
