journeyman Actually the icon used to identify those games that runs on GNU/Linux is the Ubuntu icon, which references only one distribution. As the support for this platform includes also agnostic tarballs it would be better to use the general Tux logo.

shmerl It's completed, but there is still a bug in the game card when you open it in the shelf view. The icon is simply missing there.

nstgc To reiterate what was said elsewhere Ubuntu != Linux. Ubuntu is a distro. Its not even the most popular one (I believe Mint is). If you took all Linux ditro usage, the Ubuntu based distro's wouldn't even make up half of all end-user usage. So yeah, please change the logo.

ssokolow The icon they currently use isn't even the Ubuntu logo. The Ubuntu logo is a big, hollow CIRCLE, cut into three parts, with a dot centered on the outer edge of each slice. (Representing three people holding hands)
GOG is using a TRIANGLE with dots at the corners that gives the illusion that one of the sides bends INward.

While I get that you guys were shooting for Ubuntu and Mint (which is Ubuntu based) compatibility the most, it seems kind of weird to use that insignia specifically when referring to Linux as a whole. It's no deal breaker, but it just makes more sense to use Tux. Even Valve uses Tux, and they have their own distro.

archy2 Yeah the Ubuntu icon they use now is difficult to recognize, especially at small sizes.
A tux icon would be instantly recognizable as "Linux support".

There is more to Linux than Ubuntu. And I've already seen from Arch user that for him some game worked, to which an Ubuntu user responded that for him it didn't.
nicereddy @HiPhish I made the Tux SVG for the PCGamingWiki, and linked it as a basis. Obviously the SVG wouldn't just be used as-is, it would need to be pixel-aligned and have some details removed first.
I just wanted to provide the GOG guys with a quick starting point, not a usable icon.

boltronics Yes. Calling it GNU/Linux and using the Tux icon is absolutely the correct thing to do.
If the Hurd gained momentum and GOG released builds for it, then the GNU logo would be appropriate for that new OS category.
Having the Tux logo when you only support two distributions is quite logical. After all, you've got the Windows logo and you don't support every Windows version. You specify what distributions and versions you support and that's all you need to do.

DrunkYardKeeper journeyman and others. Linux is just a kernel. GNU logo is not well known just 'cause of one thing - nobody from non-free vendors is using it. If GOG will use it first, it'll be a precident.
