1800 hours of playtime and counting. Solo or with friends, this game is a highly customizable experience, both through game-settings and through modding. The atmosphere can be anything from pleasant to tense, as you sneak around sites trying to find useful stuff or complete a mission. Pay attention or pay the price! It is a "sandbox game", in the sense that the game doesn't set any goals for you. You can play singleplayer or set up a server to play either alongside friends or in one or more teams. The name hints at the default setting for the core "gameloop", in which you have 7 days to set up a base, to protect yourself from when a sudden horde of zombies will attack you. Survive and you get another 7 days. You are, by default, immortal as you resurrect shortly after dying, but that fact, and how much you suffer from dying, is customizable. Get good enough to stay ahead of the threat, or simply set the threat to zero, and you will have time to focus on building something nice for yourself, using a fairly rich set of buildingblocks, furniture, and paint-options. The game also includes a primitive but useful function for powering and wiring up some things, like lights, automatic doors, and autotargeting gunturrets. Resources can be collected by buying them from traders (no other NPC:s for now), by searching surrounding locations, or by gathering materials and building stuff yourself. The traders offers a set of tasks to complete for rewards, and also buys some of the things you might want to sell. At the current state (v1.3) it is hinting at some kind of background story, but none actually exists in-game. Low-level modding is fairly easy as long as you are willing to read the guides on Fandom.com, and learn some markup-language-coding in XML. Mid-level modding can be done through trial and error with more poking around in the games XML-files, and learning how to code basic "regular expressions". High-level modding is possible, but beyond my scope at this point.

The description says it better than i ever could. I have been playing the pre-alpha for years now and with every update i enjoy it more. I see Wintercastle has played for 1800 hours. This is comparable to the hours that i have enjoyed this must have game. The best part is the infinite ways to play it. My highest level Char was around level 300. Pleas, bring this to GOG!

Looks like a great game. I plan to try it out on Steam, since it's only available there so far, but I'll be refunding it prior to my two hour mark regardless. It would be nice to not be required to submit to their draconian policies in order to play this.

Xenoblade Chronicles
Xenoblade ChroniclesXenoblade Chronicles follows Shulk and his band of friends as they search for answers about the mysterious "Monado" sword and defend their homeland from violent robotic creatures known as the Mechon. The game contains an open world design and strongly emphasizes exploration due to the world's large size. The game was very well received by critics, with many citing it as a great example of innovation and improvement in Japanese role-playing video games. The game has spawned a sub-series of the larger "Xeno" series, including Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U) and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch).

Touhou Koumakyou: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil
Touhou Koumakyou: The Embodiment of Scarlet DevilEmbodiment of Scarlet Devil features two playable characters to choose from, with two Spell Card types each. Reimu Hakurei can cover a wide area of the screen with weaker attacks, while Marisa Kirisame relies on her speed and power to make up for her thinner attack spread. The bombs show different behavior and damage depending on the character and type chosen. Unlike its predecessor, Mystic Square, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil comes with an "automatic item collection" feature, which allows you to collect all items on the screen by moving to the top of the screen if you are at full power, as well as a counter-bomb system, which allows you to avoid a fatal hit by using a bomb immediately. Though there are six total stages in the main game, playing on Easy will end the game after Stage 5.

Touhou Gensoukyou: Lotus Land Story
Touhou Gensoukyou: Lotus Land StoryThis game features two playable characters to choose from, with two different attack types each. Reimu Hakurei can pepper a wide area of the screen with weaker attacks, while Marisa Kirisame relies on her power to compensate for her narrower attack spread. The bombs also exhibit unique behavior and damage amounts depending upon the character chosen. Lotus Land Story is the first game in the Touhou Project to feature bombs that auto-collect items, graze counting, the ability to move more slowly by holding the shift key, and a non-trivial scoring system that involves the collection of special dream items that boost the player's ultimate scoring potential. The game's scoring system also marks the series' first instance of score bonuses for the elimination of bullets following the defeat of mid-bosses and bosses.

Touhou Eiyashou: Imperishable Night
Touhou Eiyashou: Imperishable NightThis game features eight playable characters, with four starting preset teams of two and unlockable individual character modes. When playing with the character pairs, one character fires when unfocused, while the other switches in and fires when focused, with a reduction in movement speed. The two shot types can be drastically different. The individual characters, with the exception of Remilia and Youmu, do not change shot types while focusing/unfocusing. Imperishable Night features Last Spells. For the enemy, a Last Spell is a bonus Spell Card which the player can challenge without the option to use bombs and without the risk of losing lives. On the player side, Last Spells are secondary "bomb" Spell Cards, which last longer and do much more damage than normal bombs at the expense of two bomb stocks. Player Last Spells can only be used immediately after being hit, with a grace period of less than 1 second. Additionally, there is a "Time Orb" system which affects the story/score, as well as a gauge which tracks how human/youkai (normal/focused) you are and determines how you can collect more time orbs.
