Why Area 51 (1995) Needs to Be on GOG – The Most Underrated Light Gun Game Ever Released in arcades in 1995 by Atari Games, Area 51 is a true cult classic that deserves a proper revival — and there’s no better place for that than GOG. This fast-paced light gun shooter combined over-the-top sci-fi action, digitized FMV-style graphics, and addictive gameplay into an unforgettable experience. Despite being overshadowed by other arcade giants like Time Crisis or House of the Dead, Area 51 carved out its own unique identity and deserves recognition as one of the most thrilling shooters of its time. Set in the infamous military base overrun by alien-infected soldiers, Area 51 was pure ‘90s action: frantic shooting, secret paths, power-ups, and explosive chaos everywhere. The use of live-action characters, paired with gritty alien effects and a haunting atmosphere, gave the game an edge that still holds up in memory. Its mix of camp and intensity made it endlessly replayable in arcades and on its eventual home console ports. Bringing Area 51 to GOG would preserve this gem for modern players, many of whom never got to experience its arcade magic. With optional mouse aiming or modern controller support simulating the light gun experience, it could thrive once again — especially for fans of classic on-rails shooters and retro gaming. It’s time to declassify Area 51 and let it invade our collections again.

Panzer Dragoon Orta
Panzer Dragoon OrtaThe fourth installment of the Panzer Dragoon series has you playing Orta, a young girl who has been imprisoned by the Empire. Under a wave of attack, the prison camp is broken through by a mysterious dragon, and Orta takes it upon herself to ride the dragon, and destroy the Empire once and for all. Along the way, she will also discover her own destiny, and the mystery surrounding her new friend. Simply put, you have limited control of the dragon for most of the game, as your trigger finger will be shooting non-stop at the enemies that fly around the area. Orta will be your main source of fire-power when you simply press the fire button, but by pressing and holding, the aim cursor will change, allowing you to fire a burst of power from the dragon at whatever the cursor aims at. The dragon itself can change into three forms at a press of a button. Each form has a different style of attack and power ability. A port of the original Panzer Dragoon is included.

It can be played by one to eight people, with the computer taking the remaining positions. The Kingdom of Illuria, after some severe internal disputes, has setthed under a sullen and uneasy peace. This truce has now disappeared, along with the arch-mage who imposed it. The eight empires of Illuria realize that this is their chance for total domination, a very unstable situation. Forces are being mobilized for conquest, and only one Supreme Warlord will prevail. Your objectives in Warlords are brutally simple: to eliminate all organized opposition to your rule. To do this, you will have to control all eighty cities in the lands of Illuria, and thereby eliminate all seven opponents. There are many ways to achieve this, and brute force is just one of them. you might ally with dragons or wizards, or have your Heros search out and wield magical swords that will tip the battle in your favour. Clever military tactics and even economic warfare are possibilities too.

Wet
WetWet is an action game that combines shooting and swordplay with acrobatics and gore. The main character, Rubi, carries twin pistols and a sword (she can also carry dual shotguns, submachine guns, or crossbows), and can fire while jumping, sliding on her knees, and running on walls. She can also combine her attacks, such as wall running off a person or performing a sword uppercut while sliding.
