This is an extremely polished game all around. Very easy to learn, but with quite a high skill ceiling. It's a fun action packed competative game with nice customization options. Great with friends, but the AI opponents are also very capable and fun to play against.
What I like most about this game is its fast paced and precise skill-based combat, combined with it's very clean looking aesthetics. It's very important for these types of games to be easily readable, and this game nails both the mechanics and the visuals.
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 - Collector's EditionThe European "Collector's Edition" version of Budokai 3 was released in Fall 2005. Months before, the hype began to build that it would include not only the option to select the Japanese vocal track for the characters in the game, but that the Japanese version's extras would also be available for unlocking. The Platinum Version is identical to the Collector's Edition. The "Baba Crystal Ball Movies" are also available on this version after extensive game play. Several forums have posted the process needed to gain these capsules, which can be bought in the capsule store. Contrary to its predecessor, it doesn't feature any traditional turn-based battles anymore, but a couple of platforming sections still remain. Jack and Ryu are now travelling between different planets to defeat some alien invaders, who kidnapped the world leaders. The battle system was also greatly improved. Jack and Ryu now have a lot of new attacks and even a few different skills (although they still share levels and items), they can turn into giant ninjas in order to cast the most advanced spells and it is possible to use weapons or spells without going to the menu.
