City Hunter (1990)

Genres:Shooter
Themes:Action
Story:A side-scrolling action game based on the manga and anime of the same name, concerning the private eye Ryo Saeba. City Hunter is a side-scrolling action game exclusive to the PC Engine. The player controls Ryo Saeba, the eponymous "City Hunter" private eye who often takes assignments from attractive female clients. Despite his lechery, he's a highly competent gunman and very sharp when reading people. The game is built similarly to Impossible Mission: Ryo explores buildings, checking doors for mission-critical NPCs and items while shooting the enemy thugs that attack him while investigating. It contains four stages, or "chapters", and appearances from various characters from the franchise like Ryo's partner Kaori Makimura, his rival Umibozu and his police contact Seiko Nogami.Show more

World War II: Sniper - Call to Victory
World War II: Sniper - Call to VictoryWorld War II: Sniper - Call to Victory is the third title from Jarhead to place the player in the role of an American military sniper (the first two being their Marine Sharpshooter games). This time, the player takes on the role of an Airborne soldier in 1944 as the Allies are beginning the liberation of Europe. The ten mission campaign takes place around three major engagements: Operation Market Garden, the battle of the Bulge, and the battle for the bridge at Remagen. The game uses the LithTech Jupiter engine and the same basic mechanics of the Marine Sniper games, although the emphasis is more on action and less on stealth. There are a few rail style vehicle missions and the player usually operates without an A.I. sidekick (although some missions include protecting and providing cover fire for friendly soldiers). Most of the time, the weapon of choice for eliminating enemies is the Springfield M1903 Sniper Rifle, but there are a few additional choices available for when things get hairy including Thompson submachine guns, grenades and bazookas.

Scarface: The World Is Yours
Scarface: The World Is YoursThe game begins in the film's final scene, with Tony Montana's (Andre Sogliuzzo) mansion being raided by Alejandro Sosa's assassins. But this is the point of divergence from the film. Instead of being killed by the Skull, Tony manages to sense him and shoots him down. He fights through his mansion, with many deaths on both sides. In the ensuing chaos, Tony sneaks to the front of the mansion, barely alive, and manages to escape in his car. Sosa is then informed that Tony's mansion has been seized and his massive drug empire has been reduced to nothing. Hiding in a safehouse located outside of Miami, Tony regrets the decisions he has made but swears revenge on Sosa.
