I knew it as Dark Chronicle (much cooler name, thank you Europe), but this was THE game of my childhood; it never felt like I needed anything else, and frankly it damaged my perception of other games by raising my expectations too much. It just seemed in a class of its own in terms of creativity, mechanics, and diversity. I feel like this title practically redefines the term 'hidden gem'. This thing has 3+ minigames each with their own set of in-depth rules and mechanics, each with a supporting game system. It has weapon creation and upgrades that were ridiculously in-depth for the time, and still surpass a lot of modern games. It has an unusual roguelite-style dungeon system with surprisingly dynamic combat and level variety, with heaps of underlying mechanics and little unique gameplay tricks. It is centered around a regional crafting and building system that interacts with contextual and story-defined character recruitment. It has unique and challenging bosses - even when it indulges in a bit of backtracking. It's got a relatively simple but effective (and occasionally very surprising) storyline on par with games like the Final Fantasies. I may sound a bit obsessed, but I was just never able to get over the sheer amount of STUFF that was in this game - nothing else on the platform ever seemed to get close. And all along it was encapsulated in a really intriguing and unusual world, bonkers concepts, with music that still sticks in my head, endearing characters, and vibrant and beautiful graphics that hold up startlingly well, considering its age. I went so far as to set it up on an emulator, but that always seemed to get bogged down in PC-side performance issues and glitches. Having this ported properly to PC would be a dream come true.

The invention photograph system was the most unique and fun aspect of an rpg that I wish they would bring back. The graphics were unique and I loved the steampunk elements

ok......let's get into it. Dark Cloud 2 is one of the greatest games I've ever played. I've never played anything like it. it was way before it's time and have had many copycats to follow in it's footsteps. I have waited YEARS for another Dark Cloud and it seems like it will never happen. So please, for the fans that have been fans of Level 5 ever since the original Dark Cloud came out.... release Dark Cloud 2 on GOG. please!!

Wolfenstein RPG
Wolfenstein RPGWolfenstein RPG is a first-person shooter and role-playing video game developed by id Software and Fountainhead Entertainment, released in September 2008 for mobile phones and in May 2009 for iOS. In 2013 the game was removed from App Store. The gameplay follows the recipe from Doom RPG as it is shown in the first person while being a turn-based role-playing game rather than a shooter and puts emphasis on the plot. Combat and movement are turn-based, allowing the player time to select their responses in combat. The player turns at 90 degree angles and moves space by space. One step or action by the player allows all other characters in the area to take one step or action themselves. The game takes advantage of its deliberately slow pace, encouraging players to take their time and check out every little corner, read the books on every bookshelf, and destroy all the furniture to see if anything is hidden within. Levels include underground passages and weapon development laboratories plus a level involving a moving vehicle. The game also includes two mini games: the card game War as well as Chicken Kicking, where the player is awarded points for kicking a chicken into a score area.
