This game opened my eyes to what immersion could be. While I struggled with the difficulty level, I really liked that I can do things my way and be rewarded for that. They don't make games like that anymore. 10/10 orc kicking experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just an excellent fantasy adventure game with immersive sim elements. Great sword combat and spell casting. This game should come to gog because it's good and old. One could say it's a Good Old Game.

I loved the world and the various adventures of Might and Magic ever since HoMM 2, but it wasn't until Dark Messiah that I felt I was really a part of the world. Technologically, the game was a huge upgrade from all other RPGs in the series, and the story was incredibly addicting. I just had to explore all endings. And those dual wield animations are still my favorite out of all games!
Let's see: the story is bad and Arkane admits it. it does have nothing to do with the Might and Magic series. some of the skills are unbalanced. and it runs in a very old and crusty version of Valve's Source Engine that makes it difficult to run it on modern hardware. but this game has one of, if not, the best melee combat you will find in a First Person Game and the environments of the game reflect that. before Episode Two, this is was the game that actually delivered the promise of Valve of a "Physics Based Combat" with Source, that and and the powerful kick you have you will not gonna have a bad time with this game. I love it!

Absolutely loved this game. I dont think there was anything like this since or before. first person RPG with great focuse on enviroment interaction and physics use during the fight. Personally think that what prevented this from being one of the biggest game of its time was the limited marketing and at the time high demands for hardware. I am sadden with the state of Might and magic brad and how it fade away in Ubisoft hands.
This was one of my favorite games od my childhood, I played it over and over again. Would love a good GoG port of this. Even if just for the kicking mechanic, that was so good. Maybe this would increase the amount of mods for this game.

One of the first games I played every possible ending. Game over all is pretty simple but something about there being different endings depending on choices you made was so intriguing at the time. Now every game and it’s brother does it.
An excellent blend of intrigate dungeon design and dumb fun. It does have it's 2006 moment like a turret section and a worthless story, but when you start kicking people around and tricking enemies into all sort of trap, there's no going back. Just awesome.
Loved the combat and looking forward to buying it again.

It may have been buggy back in the day, but this is one of the few games that gave you many different options for dealing with any one problem. Tired of sword combat? Kick them off a cliff or into spikes. Don't want to be the Boot Lord? Use an ice spell to freeze the ground and cause your enemies to slide into the trap. The game is a playground for experimentation.

BS-X: Sore ha Namae wo Nusumareta Machi no Monogatari
BS-X: Sore ha Namae wo Nusumareta Machi no MonogatariBundled with the Satellaview system. The application on this cartridge took the form of a game; however, its actual purpose was to serve as an interactive menu system for the console subunit. On start-up the player would enter a name, selected either a male or female character avatar, and then move the avatar around a virtual town. Houses and shops in the town served as download locations where the player could directly download games, particular game data, or digital magazines. The download would write game data into temporary memory locations which would remain until the player downloaded a new game to take its place. Apart from downloads, players could also travel to in-game locations such as the Wall Newspaper Co. (かべ新聞社 kabe shinbunsha?) to read brief text-only postcard-like messages from St.GIGA and Nintendo that announced contest winners, revealed future games and future programming schedule details, and served to raise awareness for celebrity events relating to SoundLink Magazine performers' off-Satellaview activities. Furthermore, the avatar was equipped with an inventory and game currency which could be spent on various in-game items such as telephone cards, vehicle tickets, fish bait, and shoes that would enable the player to dash rather than walk everywhere. While the BS-X application cartridge had none of the challenges typically associated with games, it featured a plot of sorts and thus can be considered a video game in a narratalogical sense.
