Eternal Champions

Eternal Champions (1993)

by Sega Enterprises, Ltd., Sega, Sega Corporation, Sega Games, Tec Toy
Genres:Sport, Simulator, Fighting
Themes:Action
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer, Split screen
Story:Sega released Eternal Champions for their Mega Drive/Genesis in 1993, hoping to capitalize on the fighting game mania that the game industry was in the midst of following the massive success of Street Fighter II (1991) and Mortal Kombat (1992). The game tried to set itself apart with unique features like a heavier emphasis on its story, characters pulled from different time periods, reflectable projectiles, force fields, fighters that carried weapons, a training mode where players had to defend themselves against robotic traps, a novel method of executing moves, and elaborate stage-specific finishing moves called "Overkills".Show more

One of my Favorite Fighting Game. I had it for the Sega Genesis. It had really Unique Characters and Stage Finishers. Definitely had lots of Great Memories with this Game.
I never had any idea what I was doing and got beat up by the computer all of the time but rarely the computer would add insult to injury and do some kind of stage fatality. It's a shame this never really found an audience but I guess Mortal Kombat cornered the market on janky, gory fighters pretty quickly in the early 90s.
Those games also need your vote!
