hell yes! i would love to see this game on gog as i have so many hours playing this back in the day! currently you have to do alot of stuff just to make it run on modern systems which is a hassle. I really hope you would support getting this on the platform
I loved this game as a kid—still the best Civil War game ever. Compared to other games in the genre, this one was the most comprehensive, most historically authentic, and had RPG elements that were ahead of its time.

Had his game on day one of its release. Loved it very much. Great strategy game on the Civil War. Of course I always got beat by Lee or Sherman depending on who I was playing. It would be great to see this title and its prequel title brought to GOG.
Awesome strategy game, still have the disk. Unfortunately doesn't work on windows 11. Would buy it immediately. Great historical accuracy and you actually learn a lot while playing. Great gameplay with turn based combat and a challenging (but not cheating) AI.
Strategy games do not get much better than this game! The historical accuracy alone is very impressive. The things I learned about the weapons, people, and locations during the Civil War due to this game cannot be overstated.

We had a group of online players who would meet at battlefields in the north and south. Everywhere from Vicksburg to Gettysburg and points in between. The group and events ended when the game was no longer available for online play. I'm sure many would return if the game was online. A real general plays much better than AI.

Loved this game. Every single battle mechanic has been included here on what is for modern standards a tiny game. The battles unfold in a very realistic, dynamic manner, there are tiny little details that make it possible for battles to twist one way or another, just as IRL - the clever mechanic where a hotly contested area becomes an area which brings victory points means that the usual anarchy found in most other war simulations is avoided - that is , if you play multiplayer, cause 30 years old AI just doesn't know what it is doing. Replay value is infinite, multiplayer over email option that these games had means it could as well be revived, and there is also the custom map builder. I think this game was easily moddable back in the day too, I remember there used to be a Napoleonic mod. All this fun in under 200mb package.
I spent so much time on this game growing up, I would love to be able to have access to this game again. I loved playing around in the map editor so much and making custom maps and units.
A sequel to a true classic, taking it into deeper waters with deeper gameplay and larger battles. I had such a blast losing myself in the series back in the day, and both shimmer with the Sierra production quality, highly memorable experiences and one of the few Civil War strategy games out there of outstanding quality. Bring 'em into the great GOG collection1

The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age
The Lord of the Rings: The Third AgeThe Lord of the Rings:The Third Age introduces entirely new characters which aren't mentioned in the books or movies. The game does relate to the movies by including scenes from all three movies, with new background speech by Ian McKellen (Gandalf). There are seven playable characters in the game which have been created specifically for it, as well a small appearances by characters such as Gandalf, Aragorn, Eowyn, Faramir, and Gothmog. The game covers events in all three movies/books, mostly with references to major events shown through cut scenes, or the scenes from the movies with Ian McKellan's narration. A classic RPG game, The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age has gameplay elements similar to Final Fantasy, where you have a party of characters, each with a different set of skills and attributes, who gain levels, making them stronger as the game progresses. Battles are turn-based, and let the gamer make different decisions on what they want to do to change the outcome of the battle. The game travels through many areas throughout Tolkien's Middle Earth, including The Pelennor Fields and Moria.

Savage XR
Savage XRBe a Commander or a Warror - RTS meets FPS Savage: The Battle for Newerth is a science fiction game released by S2 Games on September 9th, 2003. It was a first of its kind; described by S2 as a real-time-strategy-shooter (RTSS). It brought together real-time strategy, first-person shooting, and third-person melee action into one cohesive experience. Set in a distant future when mankind has rebuilt society following an apocalypse, but is threatened by intelligent beasts, players must choose a side, elect their commander (RTS), and go to war (FPS). In 2006 Savage became freeware and its source code was made available to the public. One year later, a handful of dedicated players and modders began work on Savage XR, a project intended to update and overhaul the original game. Now after seven years of development Savage XR is finished and available for free to the public. XR breathes new life into a game that has held its own for a decade. New features include: in game tutorials, duel practice mode against Python based AI-bots and game-play demos, 500 new props, wide screen support and alternative FOVs, triggers and particle effects, improved models and textures, physics engine supporting realistic collisions, unique items for all competitive clans, a simpler user-friendly installer and automatic game updater, and more. Savage XR is awesome and free!

Savage: The Battle for Newerth
Savage: The Battle for NewerthSavage: The Battle for Newerth was originally released by S2 Games in September 2003 and eventually became freeware 3 years later in September 2006, when the game has been officially abandoned and made open source. The last official patch (2.0e) came out in January 2004. Since then Savage: The Battle for Newerth has been continuously improved by the Savage community: from 2004 to 2005 by the EX2 team, from 2005 to 2007 by the SEP/SFE team and since 2008 by the Savage XR team. Although the game has been criticized for being released in an unpolished state, lacking basic features and any kind of tutorials, Savage: The Battle for Newerth with its innovative RTS/FPS gameplay was far ahead of its time, winning awards such as the Seumas McNally Grand Prize, Technical Excellence and the Audience Award at the Independent Games Festival 2004 or the Editor's Choice Award "8.7 - Great" by IGN.com.

ParaWorld
ParaWorldThe game-concept is similar to "Age of Empires", which is a real-time strategy game. ParaWorld features food, wood, and stone as resources. Food can be picked from bushes, hunted from animals, fished from the sea, or farmed. Stone is located in limited deposits, and wood, cut from trees, is generally scattered throughout a map. Battles can occur on both land and sea. The story takes place in a parallel dimension, where prehistoric life thrives alongside diverse human civilizations that are not technologically advanced. As a result, dinosaurs take the place of traditional wildlife and livestock, though some of the dinosaurs in-game are highly stylized and not necessarily scientifically accurate. Wild-living dinosaurs can be hunted for food, though some are of dangerous and aggressive species and will attack any player unit that wanders too close. Other prehistoric creatures make an appearance as well, for example woolly mammoths are used where other games might feature elephants. Players advance through epochs in order to unlock new technologies and upgrades.
