A time capsule from 2000. Music, CGI, Graphics, Gameplay, UI and UI Sounds SCREAM 2000. This game is my childhood and it has a very special place in my heart and mind. The gameplay for this game holds up extremely well, especially for a Hot Wheels game. Still probably one of the best Hot Wheels games ever, to this day.

Velocity X feels the the definitive Hot Wheels game. It had the early concept of an Open World and executed it through 5 satisfying large maps before Open Worlds became a major thing in modern games. It had a story and characters you could get behind. Many cars to unlock and powerups to fuse racing and battling into the same game which felt satisfying. While a remaster on all modern platforms would be an insta-buy for me. Just seeing a port of it for modern platforms would be incredible.

This was probably one of my favorite Hot Wheels games when I got it for the PC, not just because of the racing but also the vehicular combat and open world exploration elements that I've yet to see in newer Hot Wheels games.
Its like a more family friendly carmageddon with a hotwheels theme and tricks and more focus on racing I had plenty of fun times with this one. it definitely makes my favorite racing games list.

Turbo Esprit
Turbo EspritTurbo Esprit puts you in control of a Lotus Esprit cop car, with the challenge of breaking up a drugs gang and protecting the innocent. A map is built into the car, which can instantly show the positions of the baron's cars - this is crucial because you can't interrupt them before the initial deal is done, as this will simply make them leave and try again another time.

Konami GT
Konami GTKonami GT, originally known as Konami RF2 - Red Fighter, is a 1985 racing video game developed and released by Konami, using their GX400 arcade architecture. The player drives a sports car which must reach various checkpoints without running out of fuel. A turbo mode (activated by the gear shift) increases the car's speed but uses more fuel and puts the player at a higher risk of hitting an obstacle. Fuel power-ups can be found on the road which the player must pick up to make it to the final checkpoint. The original title RF2 is a reference to Konami's 1984 arcade game Road Fighter, and thus this may be considered an unofficial sequel. RF2 was a commercial success in Japanese arcades. The series was followed in 1996 by official sequel Midnight Run - Road Fighter 2. Konami GT was made available on Microsoft's Game Room service for its Xbox 360 console and for Windows-based PCs on October 6, 2010.

Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix
Nigel Mansell's Grand PrixNigel Mansell's first licensed computer game recreates all 16 Formula 1 circuits of the time, viewed from behind the car but with a full cockpit-type view below. This is important because the game is very much a simulation rather than an action game. Before each race you have to do three qualifying laps, and only make the grid if you are fast enough to meet the pre-defined qualifying limit. The races can be between 5 and 20 laps, or at full length if you prefer - fortunately a half-finished season can be saved to cassette or disk. F1 cars of this era have turbo boosts, and this is available in the game to provide a quick blast of extra speed, which is useful for overtaking but can cause the turbo or the engine itself to be overstressed, as well as using fuel more quickly (pitstops are for tires but not fuel, again in keeping with the era's real Formula 1 rules).
