Magicka is a truly amazing coop game that I devoured years back: it had one of the most innovative magic systems at the time and definitely one of the craziest coop experiences. Not only the gameplay was great, but its story was fun and interactions and characters spot on. This, coupled with the fact that some combos were NOT BALANCED AT ALL, made the game truly unforgettable. If played with friends, the story, DLCs and even the PVP will bring lots of hours of fun - like they did for me at the time - if only the game had its crashes fixed.
The first game I ever bought on Steam was Magicka. I think I stumbled across it during a sale over 10 years ago. The unique spellcasting system and quirky humor instantly drew me in, and over the years, I’ve spent more than 2000 hours in the game. It’s fair to say it was a huge part of my life for a long time. Despite its flaws, Magicka always brought me joy—first through learning and mastering the spellcasting mechanics, and later through intense PvP sessions and modding the game. But let’s be honest: the game was never technically perfect. It’s always been buggy, with random crashes and strange glitches being part of the experience. Still, that was part of its charm—for a while. Things took a real downturn in 2018 when an update from an internal dev studio at Paradox Interactive was pushed to the game. They introduced hot-join, which seemed like a godsend at first, but whatever code they concocted made Magicka nearly unplayable. Constant crashes, severe multiplayer issues, desyncs—it became impossible to enjoy the game as it once was. What frustrates me even more is that Paradox portrays itself as a company that supports modding and community creativity. Yet when modders, including myself, reached out for tools or permissions to fix Magicka, their requests were denied or ignored. Thankfully, a few dedicated players and skilled programmers are still trying to salvage what’s left. They’re patching, experimenting, and doing everything they can to keep the game alive. But as long as the official version remains broken, the player base will continue to shrink. And when those few remaining modders eventually give up—I pray this never happens—Magicka will be gone for good, and Paradox Interactive will try to sweep their failure under the rug, just like they did with Magicka: Wizard Wars and the Magicka mobile game. It’s a sad fate for such a unique and innovative title.

This is the very first game I bought, back in 2011, when I was 16 years old. The most innovative gameplay I have ever experienced where you can mix 8 different elements with spells of 5 elements in an intuitive way to defend, attack, heal in many different ways. The campaign was just so enjoyable with epic storyline and satirical dialogs which made it even more fun. Co-op and multiplayer was also so fun specially with friends. A gem of a game that has remained in my heart for many many years till now that I am 30 (my profile picture on Steam it's still about this game). Just 2 years ago I finished one DLC for the first time (Magicka Vietnam). It has had in the past a lot of positive feedback on Steam and many many very nice DLCs and I have them all. Unfortunately this game, originally developed for Windows 7, has been completely abandoned by the publisher and devs and it's basically unplayable on modern hardware with constant crashes. Recent reviews on steam brought its rating down because of these issues. Magicka deserves more and it would be my dream to see it in a playable state again and with an active community. Many potential new players have been discouraged over the years over these issues and I'm sure that there would be many more players playing if the game was fixed in the first place. For example after the success of Helldivers 2 (same devs) many tried this game but went away because of this.
This is all the more necessary now that the recent Steam reviews say it has become completely broken and unplayable. This is exactly why GOG exists, to keep games of old from becoming broken and lost to time. It really needs the GOG treatment.
Those games also need your vote!

F1 2012
F1 2012As well as the new young driver test mode, F1 2012 features a new "Champions Mode", in which the six World Champions competing in the 2012 season — Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher — will be styled after traditional end-of-level video gaming bosses, with the player challenged to beat them while racing in conditions that suit each driver. Another new mode introduced, is the "Season Challenge" mode. Feedback given to Codemasters was that players only played the game when they had a few hours to play. In response, Codemasters brought in this mode so that players could simply play for a short amount of time. In this mode the player will start as a team lower down the field, and over a ten race season the player will move teams mid-season, depending on their ability to beat rival drivers and objectives. Codemasters also introduced "One-Shot Qualifying", whereby a player has a single lap to qualify for the race. The three stage knock out session is still an option, however the single 20 minute session is no longer available in career mode. There is no longer an option to include all three practice sessions in a race weekend, but instead only a single hour session is available.
