Pinball Construction Set

Pinball Construction Set (1983)

by Bill Budge, Comptiq, Electronic Arts
Genres:Pinball
Themes:Action
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:Pinball Construction Set created a new genre of video games - the "builder" or "construction set" class of games. Users can construct their own virtual pinball machine, by dropping controls onto a table. Controls included bumpers, flippers, spinners and other standard pinball paraphernalia. Attributes such as gravity and the physics model could also be modified. Users could then save their creations and develop custom artwork to go along with them. As Pinball Construction Set itself was not needed to play the tables, they could be freely traded online or on a floppy disk.Show more

Microsoft Pinball Arcade
Microsoft Pinball ArcadeThe programmers at Microsoft are porting a game from their operating system over to the Game Boy Color with MICROSOFT PINBALL ARCADE. This pinball game was great fun on the PC, and now it is in a form that can be taken anywhere. There are seven different tables that are actually representative of real boards made by pinball giant Gottlieb throughout the last century. Each board carries a different theme, whether it is space travel or a haunted house. The boards also contain a varying number of paddles and paddle locations to make each a different playing experience. The graphics in this version are not as shiny as its computer counterpart, but they do translate well to the small color screen. The sound effects and music remain largely the same, adding to the game's arcade feel. The cartridge also contains a short but detailed history of pinball and how it has evolved over the years. MICROSOFT PINBALL ARCADE gives players the classic game with enough boards and extras to keep even the experts busy for quite a while.

Devil's Island Pinball
Devil's Island PinballA savage storm leaves you shipwrecked on a remote South Seas island. But what first appears to be a tropical paradise quickly turns into a nightmare as you battle venomous spiders and giant scorpions. Natural threats are not your only peril however, with the evil Witchdoctor and his cannibal minions hot on your trail as you try to make your escape; while looming over all is the steaming volcano which threatens to erupt and destroy everything in its path. Devil's Island was intended to be a table for Pinball Wizards' game Balls Of Steel, but was cut out in favor of Duke Nukem. Eventually, the developers released it on its own as a separate game.

Super Monkey Ball
Super Monkey BallSuper Monkey Ball is a 2001 platform party video game developed by Amusement Vision and published by Sega. The game debuted in Japan at the 2001 Amusement Operators Union trade show as Monkey Ball, an arcade cabinet running on Sega's NAOMI hardware and controlled with a distinctive banana-shaped analog stick. Due to the failure of Sega's Dreamcast home console and the company's subsequent restructuring, an enhanced port dubbed Super Monkey Ball was released as a launch title for the GameCube in late 2001, garnering interest as Sega's first game published for a Nintendo home console. Conceived by Amusement Vision head Toshihiro Nagoshi, Super Monkey Ball involves guiding a transparent ball containing one of four monkeys—AiAi, MeeMee, Baby, and GonGon—across a series of maze-like platforms. The player must reach the goal without falling off or letting the timer reach zero to advance to the next stage. There are also several multiplayer modes: independent minigames as well as extensions of the main single-player game.
