Primal Rage II (1997)

by Atari Games, GruntZilla94
Genres:Fighting
Themes:Fantasy, Historical, Science fiction
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:Primal Rage II is the cancelled sequel to Primal Rage. It started development in 1996 and was set to be released in 1997, but the game was cancelled due to the shrinking popularity of arcades. The game would feature avatars of the gods as playable characters. Necrosan trapped the gods so they couldn't fight him, so the avatars had to save the gods by fighting each other to reach Necrosan. If the player were to beat Necrosan then they would get an ending. Only one cabinet of the game is known to exist, and it can be found at the Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, Illinois. As of 02/11/2017, the emulation of the game is fully functional, thanks to YouTube user GruntZilla94.Show more

Primal Rage 2 – Memory of a Game That Never Was Primal Rage 2 was always a mystery to me—rumored, half-finished, and barely seen in the wild. I remember reading about it in magazines, seeing screenshots of the new human “Avatars” channeling the primal gods, and dreaming about what it could’ve been. A deeper story, smoother animation, new combos—it felt like it could’ve pushed the series into true arcade greatness. Years later, when I finally saw leaked footage and fan builds online, it was bittersweet. The ambition was clear, but it was never finished, never released. A sequel frozen in time. That’s why Primal Rage 2 should be preserved. If Warner Bros. or whoever holds the rights could release it—complete or not—on GOG, it would honor the effort put into it. Give fans the chance to finally see the full picture.

True Crime: Streets of LA
True Crime: Streets of LATrue Crime: Streets of LA is a free-roaming driving and action game similar in concept to Grand Theft Auto III. The game's structure is mission-based; most of the missions are dictated by the story and initiate following a cutscene that advances it. Failing a mission still allows the player to continue playing through the chapter and undertake subsequent missions; in some cases this will lead to branching paths and optional missions. However, in order to complete the whole chapter the player must eventually succeed in all the main missions.

One Must Fall: 2097
One Must Fall: 2097Welcome to One Must Fall 2097. This game is an action-fighting game similar to Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat but it has a much more to offer. Once you're into the game, you choose your pilot. Each pilot has different strengths and weaknesses. You may want one that is faster, or that can take a punch or two, or one that just looks good. Each pilot needs a good vehicle, or a robot in this case. You fight other piloted robots. For victory, You gain money, for money, You can buy some upgrades and beat more robots. The economy part of this game is really simple :-), but gives new experience from a simple fighting game. In the background story of the robot-fighting games are multinational corporations. One such corporation, World Aeronautics and Robotics (WAR), runs the entire show. WAR was started as a research institute to provide human-assisted robots for space travel. Their first prototypes were activated in 2009 and were immediately put to use by a conglomeration of companies from Japanamerica to build the first ACTIVE space station. The HAR's were better than conventional robots in that they were completely operated by a single human whose brain controlled the robot's systems via remote. The "pilot" actually "became" the robot for all intents and purposes, but no danger to the pilot was possible. At the end of 21st century You have a chance to write history. You've waited for this night since you were a child. Fifteen years of training will be used tonight. The main prize is waiting...

Onimusha: Blade Warriors
Onimusha: Blade WarriorsOnimusha Blade Warriors is a multiplayer fighting game based on the first two games of the Onimusha series. Familiar elements taking from the Onimusha games include the medieval Japanese settings, the characters, items, and the ability to absorb souls in order to perform a magical attack. Fourteen characters are available initially, but a total of twenty-four can be unlocked over the course of play, including long-time Capcom superstars Mega Man and Zero. With the addition of items and weapons strewn around the battle field which characters can pick up to aid in battle, gameplay is aptly compared to one of Capcom's other fighting franchises, Power Stone.

Dark Colony
Dark ColonyDark Colony is a real-time strategy with heavy emphasis on the actual combat. Resource gathering, base construction and unit production have been made as simple and fast as possible, allowing the player to focus on decimating the enemy armies. Ancient artifacts, available in some of the missions, provide unique options for beating the odds, even when they seem to be against you (and they often will).
