It was simple, it was clunky, it was barely understandable. It was one of the first (if not THE first) games I played by myself. It gave me a crash-course on history even with me hardly understanding any English back then. It taught me challenge, despair and success. Solving logic puzzles in this game made me actually score better on an IQ test (!!!) No game since has ever been able to repeat the experience I had with this game: gaining real life skills and knowledge while playing a video game. There were some incredible people behind this that knew how to make an educational game actually work. I now play this game with my children - let this be a testament to how impactful it is. This is a forgotten (given the number of votes) classic, that NEEDS to be preserved on GOG, as it is still as good as it was on release and the engagement and educational value hasn't changed one bit.

My wife used to play this game when she was little! They are both the same age, it's incredible! Some puzzles were difficult to figure out but it was loads of fun

ActRaiser 2ActRaiser 2 is a side-scrolling platform game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System developed by Quintet and published by Enix in 1993. The game is a sequel to the original ActRaiser, but the storyline is not directly connected to its predecessor; however, many plot details suggest that ActRaiser 2 may actually be set before the events of the original ActRaiser, or takes place in another universe entirely. Otherwise, the given story draws concepts from the famous religious epics Paradise Lost and the Divine Comedy. Unlike the original game, which alternately combined platform game sequences and god game sequences, ActRaiser 2 is only a platform game.

In 2007, ActRaiser became available on the Wii's Virtual Console download service. A version of the game was also released for European mobile phones in 2004.
