Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (1993)

by Konami
Genres:Fighting
Themes:Action, Science fiction
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:The Genesis version uses the standard three-button controller, with only two buttons for attacking (punch and kick). To perform stronger punches or kicks, the player must hold the directional pad towards the opponent while pressing either attack buttons. The third button is used for taunting. Some of the stages in the game feature destroyable scenery that gives the player and their opponent access to new areas in the stage. As well as their special moves, each character has a 'killer' attack which is only accessible when they are close to death and the red part of the characters' life gauge at the top starts flashing. This is done by pressing the Taunt button in conjunction with a specific D-Pad motion. These moves nearly take out the other character's life gauge completely. The game has eight playable characters, which includes the four Turtles and Casey Jones, as well as April O'Neil (whose active role differs from the versions of the character featured in other games), Ray Fillet (a character from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures comics), and Sisyphus (an original character, named Musha Beetle in the Japanese version). The player can adjust their power and speed after selecting their character. The music in this version was composed by renowned video game composer Miki Higashino, in collaboration with Masanori Adachi.Show more

If TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection didn't exist. I wouldn't bother with trying to save this TMNT: Tournament Fighters game. By now the world knows the three TMNT fighting games are vastly different. This might not be the worst in terms of technical or limited content. I still felt this is among the most disappointing TMNT games I ever played!!! Let's get the stuff I do actually like about it. The cover I do felt was the best out of the three TMNT fighting games. The soundtrack is surprisingly quite decent. I did like the roster especially in TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection version since you can play as the bosses. You got both Casey and April despite being obviously not her. The one TMNT game in that compilation game to get her wrong. The game takes places entirely in Dimension X. Thus exactly why it quickly doesn't feel like an TMNT game. Ray was pulled from the TMNT comics. Interestingly enough Sisyphus created exclusively for this game. The stages are somewhat interesting just lacked stuff that really stands out in the SNES TMNT fighting game. The controls aren't great at all with mechanics not helping much. The AI is more brutal than Eternal Champions I'm not kidding. I should mention if you want the true ending. Good luck you gotta beat it on the hardest difficulty. I did like replay feature to a degree. Sadly most of the modes felt a bit too similar to each other. The game still an interesting piece of TMNT history. If you wanna have any real fun play with an friend or family member. In all honestly it's not a bad TMNT fighting game. You still clearly see how rushed out it was. Which does explain a lot about it's flaws. Not quite the middle ground but just enough to give it a try.

Dark Colony
Dark ColonyDark Colony is a real-time strategy with heavy emphasis on the actual combat. Resource gathering, base construction and unit production have been made as simple and fast as possible, allowing the player to focus on decimating the enemy armies. Ancient artifacts, available in some of the missions, provide unique options for beating the odds, even when they seem to be against you (and they often will).
