Genres:Shooter, Racing
Themes:Open world, Action
Game modes:Single player
Story:The Getaway is a sandbox crime game set in London. It is inspired by British gangland films Get Carter and Snatch. Initially, the release of the game was to coincide with the launch of the PlayStation 2 in 2000, but was delayed by 27 months due to the difficulty of re-creating large areas of London in high resolution. Parts of The Getaway feature in various episodes of Graham Duff's Ideal.Show more

If there is any chance that The Getaway can get a PC port on GOG, I'll ditch Steam. Its bad enough to own a copy of this and a well-functioning PS2, but emulating it as an alternative is virtually not possible without running into serious issues. Not to mention that Sony has the gall to not feature this game on the PS Store and ultimately do the London studio dirty. Tight controls, captivating story and one of the most technically and visually impressive games of the PS2 era. It basically has the serious, Noire tones of Get Carter with the action and violence of Snatch; but I feel that I'm oversimplifying it, as the campaign has a lot to offer in story and acting. The Getaway is one of the first games I played where I got to experience the idea that a game can feel like a movie but still be fun to play. It does a great job at making the game as immersive as possible, to the point that UI is not even needed if it did have any at all. I would love to play this game again.

Oi, bruv, this Grand Theft Car thing is lovely, mate! I got to be a mobster in the streets of London during the pinnacle of gaming (PS2)! I need to recover this jewel and get it to run on my PS2 again, but it would also help to play it on GOG.

Twisted Metal: Black Harbor City
Twisted Metal: Black Harbor CityTwisted Metal: Black was to have a sequel titled Twisted Metal: Black - Harbor City, though it was never officially announced and the project was later scrapped. Details on the game were revealed in the PlayStation 2 port of Twisted Metal: Head-On, Twisted Metal Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition. It was originally planned the levels of Harbor City to be greatly expanded and inter-connected with one another, giving a greater feeling of a single, complete world rather than stand-alone levels. The four completed levels were included in the game as a bonus feature entitled Twisted Metal: Lost.
