Is a hidden gem in the dungeon-crawling RPG genre, offering a deeply immersive and challenging experience for fans of classic turn-based combat. The game masterfully blends strategic battles, intricate dungeon exploration, and a compelling storyline set in a dark and mysterious world.
This is easily one of my favorite titles on the PS2 I first played it completely blind and its always stuck with me as an incredibly atmospheric, charming, and funny experience. For my first ever wizardry title I was surprised at how well balanced yet intense the game could get, i never felt like it was easy but I never felt being pushed too hard, the "Allied Actions "mechanic is honestly alot of fun to mess around with and I'd love to see it be used in other rpgs :D the game has a simple but very well executed story and the art direction is top notch! I love the designs of all the monsters and people you come across, everything feels crafted and well loved. it remains a hidden gem and i genuinely wish it got more recognition in the rpg scene. <3
I'm an old timer been playing since the original nes. This was the first wizardry game I'd ever played and I absolutely fell in love with it!! I'd heard of wizardry and tried a few out but for some reason this one really sticks with me. I actually beat it for the first time ever about a month ago. I had it on ps2 and had never really finished it because I got distracted by other games again and again, but now that I'm 41 I've slowed down and took the journey start to finish this time and just wow!! The characters I have grown to love all have such amazing stories and the main story once you get closer to the end really got to me!! I want to.be able to play this again and again til I'm old and gray😂 this for me is one of my all time favorites I rank it up there with dragon quest 8 chrono trigger and final fantasy 1 and 7 all of which are some of my all time favorites!

Giten Megami Tensei: Tokyo Mokushiroku
Giten Megami Tensei: Tokyo MokushirokuThe game is set in an alternate reality, in which Tokyo is invaded by hordes of demons. You play the role of a young man who lives in an underground shelter and is training to become a demon hunter with help of special programs. One day, during a training, one of the programs goes berserk, and as a result you are thrown into the world where you must fight for your life against vicious demons. Giten Megami Tensei: Tokyo Mokushiroku is a non-canonical part of Megaten universe, featuring recurrent setting and story elements of the franchise. Like in classic Shin Megami Tensei games, the largest part of the game is spent in 3D dungeons, which are viewed from first-person perspective. The battle system introduces some unusual elements: enemies are visible before the actual battle begins, and during your dungeon exploration, you will be sometimes attacked from different sides. You will have to turn around to face the enemy in real time, but the game will be paused when you select commands from menu, in a traditional turn-based fashion.

Shin Megami Tensei
Shin Megami TenseiThe story follows a nameless protagonist who lives in near-future Tokyo. When a portal to the realm of demons is opened, United States officials order a nuclear attack on Tokyo. Transported with two other supporting characters thirty years into the future, the protagonist finds the Earth ruined by a demon invasion, which is now the stage for an escalating conflict between the Order of Messiah and the Ring of Gaea, conflicting cults who wish to bring about kingdoms for their respective patron deities (YHVH and Lucifer). The story is influenced by moral decisions the protagonist makes, aligning him either with the Order, the Ring of Gaea, or setting him up as an independent agent. The gameplay uses first-person navigation of dungeons and turn-based battles against demons. The player can recruit demons as allies by talking to them rather than fighting them, and two to three demons can be fused to create new demons.
