The Xargon Trilogy, is yet another of Epic's early shareware development and publishing deals, and one of their best. Follow Malvineous Havershim as he investigates the mysterious ruins that transport him to another world, which he must travese to defeat the evil Xargon. Playing much like the Jill of the Jungle trilogy (which is here on GOG already), Xargon is an upgrade in pretty much every way, graphics, music and sound. I picked up the floppy disk shareware version in a blister pack from an office supply store when i was young and was captivated by the strange creatures and bizzare worlds it sent me through, clambering through caves, forests, swamps and robotic facilities in a quest to destroy the first of Xargon's reactors. Being a shareware of that era, it would preview the last two episodes and i would see the curious creatures and strange landscapes i could not reach without the full edition which left me wanting more. It was not until many years later that I finally got my hands on the full game and got to see Malvineous' journey to it's conclusion, destroying all of Xargon's reactors and defeating Xargon himself, finally freeing Malvineous from this strange world. It is definitely a solid and enjoyable experience all the way through and a game i look back on fondly, alongside many of the gaming gems produced during the golden age of shareware (some of which are already available on GOG - Jill of the Jungle, Bio Menace, Monster Bash, Crystal Caves, Secret Agent, Blake Stone etc.) I still play it fairly often through good 'ol DOSBox and having played Epic's entire shareware back catalaog i can safely say that this is one of Epic's MS-DOS shareware classics and really should have been tracked down to fill out Epic's missing back catalogue on GOG long ago.

One of the first games I played as a kid, still thinking fondly about it over 20 years later. It's a weird sidescrolling platformer kind of game. It has some really charming graphics and whack sound effects and enemy designs that really stick with you. More people should play this game! You can find it on various abandonware websites nowadays, but you also need to get dosbox and configure it to play, etc. I haven't played it in about a decade myself though... Would be neat if was available on GOG and "just worked" on modern operating systems!
Loved this game as a kid and would play through all three episodes for the sheer enjoyment of it. However, a step would need to be taken for episode 3's final level, as without the map that came with the instruction booklet, death awaits any player who doesn't get lucky and find the right door. Which is not a good thing given this game has a count of extra lives.
Those games also need your vote!

After Burner Climax
After Burner ClimaxSega's airborne combat series soars back into arcades with more than 20 stages of high-flying action in After Burner Climax. Players can climb into the cockpit of an F-14 Super Tomcat, an F-15E Strike Eagle, or an F/A-19E Super Hornet and speed through the skies, dodging planes, rockets, and bullets while try to target and take down as many enemies as possible. A branching storyline and time limits force gamers into split-second decisions, but once the "Climax Gauge" is full, time slows down momentarily to let pilots unleash a screen-clearing fusillade of bullets. The game was delisted on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in December 2014. The mobile versions followed suit, being delisted in May 2015. In April 2019, the mobile versions were relisted as free games containing ads as apart of the Sega Forever line, before being delisted once again at an unknown date.
