I am playing a Fighter Lv7 dual classed to Mage who is now Lv 9. My party is (if relevant) Jaheira, Minsc, Aerie, Viconia, and Yoshimo.

I am playing BG2:EE and currently on Chapter 2. I want to get Imoen as soon as possible and I am close to getting 15K gold. My question is, do I miss any quests if I follow the main story and advance to chapter 3 or 4?

I have only done Curcius (got Aerie) and Copper Coronet (Freeing Hendak and the slaves) quests. Changed the owner of it. I have not gone out of the city yet. Do the quests I get in Coppor Coronet (Like Nalia) have a time limit?

I also would like to know if I should do my class (Mage) quest in advance or after I get Imoen.

Tnx in Advance.

No. I always get Imoen ASAP. Though, if you've accepted Nalia's quest you should do it first. That will get you the money you need.

Iirc, Chapter three starts when you turn in the money. You'll still be in Athkatla and able to get right back to whatever you were doing.

Chapter 4 starts after you leave Athkatla. Most quests will wait until you get back, or they'll indicate if there is a time limit. If Jaheira gets cursed, then complete that quest before leaving. A couple other quests revolving around a given NPC also need to be completed before leaving if they get started.

You won't be able to advance most chapter 2 or chapter 3 quests until you get back, but they'll sit and wait for you.
Thank you guys.
A follow up question. I have cleared the De Arnise Keep and Nalia offered me its ownership. So I have a few questions.

1. I am a Fighter/Mage. I learned that I can own both a Mage Stronghold and the De Arnise hold. But to do that, I need to own the Mage hold first. Is that right? Should I go finish the mage quest first or can I own the Arnise castle and the go and own the Mage castle (whatever that is)

2. I also read that I need to "take care" of my stronghold. My goal is to get those 2 strongholds and then save imoen. That sounds like I'll have to be away from Amn for a couple of weeks. Would I lose my strongholds because I can't visit them every week?

Tnx

1. You can do it in any order. Start the quest then go and save Imoen. The hold will wait.
2. You do need to do hold quests, but so long as you havent been given a deadline, like going to Nalia's father's funeral you will be ok to go to Spellhold. All hold quest but that one give you plenty of time.

Best thing to do is rescue Nalia's keep and then go straight for Imoen, after doing Aran's tasks.

So just to be sure. If I accept De Arnise Keep and become its Lord, I can still go and take Planar Sphere as my stronghold right? Then I will have 2 strongholds. I am planning to do that after I get Imoen back.

Not without tweaks or cheats. The enhanced edition removed the explot of the original to get multiple strongholds. You do get offered all relevant strongholds as a dual/multi class character but you can ony own one. The tweaks anthology has a multiple strongholds option if that's what you want.

Eh. Then I won't be able to get both whatever I do. In that case one last question remains. Which one would you suggest? De Arnise Keep or Planar Sphere? What are their benefits? I personally do not wish to leave Nalia to her fate.

De Arnise keep definitely. You get a long questline, it's cool (it's a castle!) and you can add your own priest with temple benefits. The mage's stronghold is meh!

Once you're in charge of the Thief stronghold, you are obligated to visit it at least every 10 days. In my experience, unless you really keep moving, you're almost certainly going to lose it while away trying to rescue Imoen. This is a non-issue for your Fighter/Mage character, of course.

From what I've read of the others, most of them don't have the same issue. Thieves are required to pay their dues in a (more or less) timely manner.

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind in my possible future playthroughs.
