Hello.

I've got a peculiar problem with modded Baldur's Gate game: I've installed BG Fixpack, BG Trilogy and widescreen fix. The game works fine (although everything is a tad bit tiny on 2560x1440) but the problem is with companions: when i click on them, they play out-of-place voices. Like, i'd click on Xzar and the game plays his death voice instead of his default ones, same with other companions.
Did you install BG Fixpack before BGT? One of the requirements for BGT is a CLEAN installation of BG.

Quote: "The installation must be a "clean" installation; no modifications whatsoever should be installed on it."

BGT should already contain most if not all of the fixes from BG Fixpack. You don't need BG Fixpack if you're going to install BGT.

I'd suggest that you reinstall the mods, and make sure you follow the instruction in BGT readme.

I will assume (and hope) that Jopalnu is actually talking about the BG2 Fixpack from the Gibberlings3. In that case they were right to install it before BGT, according to the Big World Project v18.1, which is in my opinion the best and most comprehensive install order for the original games. There are actually quite a few mods (or some of their components) that need to be installed before BGT according to BWP.

Sadly, I don't know anything about the problem with the voices...

Oh, I just checked the Compatibility List for BGT, and it actually says to install the BG2 Fixpack before it too:

- BG2Fixpack v1 or above (install before BGT-WeiDU - installing after BGT-WeiDU causes you to get the SoA world map)

I understand the confusion now: that quote is especifically regarding the BG1 installation.

Further below in the BGT Readme you will find this:

I want to install BGT-WeiDU. Should I have clean copies of Baldur’s Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast, Shadows of Amn, and Throne of Bhaal installed?

It is critical that you have a clean copy of Baldur’s Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast installed that contains no modifications whatsoever (including Baldurdash fixes). Failure to do this will generate numerous unpredictable problems in your BGT-WeiDU installation.

For Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal, you may have modifications pre-installed. See below for more details on using other modifications with BGT-WeiDU.
