Just got it in the mail today, and thought I'd show folks what it looks like. I hear that it's going to be the only physical release. I'm not going to open it because...well, I have a 3090 and a PC and seldom even turn on the X. I had the original release as well which came with a neat companion booklet. I wish CDPR and GOG would add these console exclusive media to our accounts here at some point. Not gonna happen, but we can hope.

There's always beauty in phisical media.
I'm really disappointed by how CD Projekt has disregarded the PC version of the game with the Ultimate Edition. I understand no company is willing to use discs for PC anymore because BluRay drives never took off due to pricing (actually no, they refused to use BluRay because every company took that as an opportunity to kill physical games on PC lmao), but man.... they could have included the Phantom Liberty OST in this edition, just like they included the main game OST in the PC version of the game back in 2020.

Still, I don't think the re-sell value of that Xbox copy is really going to increase much... The original version of the game included some booklet like you said, a physical map of the city and some stickers. The Ultimate Edition doesn't include anything, afaik.

Oh..I totally agree. There is absolutely no resell value to this physical release whatsoever. However, in the name of game preservation and future emulation, this is the best release having all the content on discs. I just opened it up, and it is sorely disappointing. You get two discs on the left side of the case stacked atop each other, on the right with the usual paper inserts is Phantom Liberty on a disc by itself in a yellow paper sleeve. The only addition is a new sticker sheet with some stickers being smaller versions of those previously released and a few new NUSA stickers. Actually, the original release came with Map of Night City, Postcards from Night City, World Compendium (booklet), and Stickers.

I can't speak to how others use Blu-ray...but those M discs at 120GB are damn fine media. I'd back up my entire library, but it'd take 85 discs. I'm waiting for the 1TB optical discs that are currently in development . I'm not a fan of digital media really, and have always had blu-ray drives. For instance, you could take the entire CP2077 and PL, burn it to one disc, use a laser equipped drive to do the artwork on top...and BAM!....a much better release...made by you.

Absolutely. I have a BluRay drive myself but I hardly make any use of it due to games not really being released physically anymore. I've burnt a few games in BluRay discs though and made custom cover arts for them etc, but discs are also extremelly expensive nowadays, is not really worth it either.

The stickers are a nice touch, but not worth paying 60 bucks again.
