Just speculation for now, but with curation's body count stacking up recently I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking at yet another utterly stupid rejection, for whatever arbitrary reason.

Crowdfunded Dark Souls-like 2D platformer Blasphemous, which was supposed to get a DRM-free release (while also explicitly mentioning GoG on their Kickstarter page) announced a publishing deal with Team17 yesterday.

Curiously enough neither the new reveal trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1wHiHstc9E) to go along with the announcement as well as Team17's livestream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iwYZ7VQ_eQ) mentions GoG as one of the platforms Blasphemous is going to release on (fairly soon from the looks of it).

Again, just speculation for now, but the optics don't look too good at the moment.
I'll admit that I think Soul style games are quite played out at this point and I don't feel the need to play one. BUT that game trailer has some beautiful sprite work and animation. There's plenty of games like that here, don't see why this one should be left out.
Looks great and I hope it makes its way to gog, but seriously, fuck the term souls-like, no wait, fuck the whole abominable genre. Can't wait for that fad to pass. :/
Team 17 have always treated GOG kind of second-class. It'll probably turn up eventually like most other recent Team 17 published games.

For all we know right now, probably.
Still a kick in the nads for those who threw money at this under the assumption to get a DRM-free release on GoG on day 1.

It's not just me then? lol
The title of this thread is deceptive; I don't currently see any info anywhere that points to the game not coming out on GOG or being rejected by curation. Team 17 and Game Kitchen are both on GOG, and a GOG release was explicility promised to backers on the kickstarter - nothing about that has changed. Steam being the only PC store that gets mentioned is par for the course with these trailers, even for games that get a GOG release at launch.

You get a downvote for not actually providing valid citations of rejection and a virtual slap.
If Kickstarter ppl don't get it, that would suck. But these days you can't trust any dev's 'promise'.

Yeah... I kind of get the use of the term for dark souls clones, but not applied to platformers. This kind of game play in a platformer existed long before Dark Souls as far as I'm concerned.

That's what I'm thinking as well, it's a completely different genre, but souls like sells better I assume.
Team 17 ? i'm not a fan of them, maybe when they start updating their game/s then i will give them a second chance.

I've looked around a bit more and from what I can gather the GOG version has not been cancelled. In this thread a backer who picked a GOG key from the backerkit asks about the possibility of the devs using GOG connect to distribute the game to backers, so that it doesn't hurt GOG sales by making people pick between GOG and Steam and being less complicated than separate keys. This was approximately three weeks ago.

The take away is that backers were able to choose a GOG key at that point, making it unlikely that the game was rejected or the release cancelled. As there is no news that I could find about this having changed since then, I think it is safe for now to assume that this is still the case and that Blasphemous will release on GOG, with the added possibility of getting it through GOG connect.

Not only you...
"Rogue-like" is not good either.

Roguelike is an actual established genre though, but I think if you're gonna use it then your game should adhere to the standard conventions of the genre (tile-based procedurally generated levels, combat/movement where you and the enemies move/attack at the same time, permanent death). I see heaps of games that use the term roguelike which aren't even close in gameplay.
