It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Last time I checked I was a human being. Unfortunately the stupid google recaptcha service (that GOG unfortunately is using as well) thinks otherwise. Especially when it comes to street signs which are half blurred or not clearly recogniseable as being a street sign and then the question if the pole should be clicked on or not? This stupid service is so nice to not even tell you if you solved the captcha correctly it just sends you the next. I end up solving captchas 30 minutes or longer and this is annoying like hell. Any safe way to solve those street sign captures? (Don't say I should use the audio function. If I click on this symbol google immediately tells me that there obviously is a bot at work ... WFT).

Log-in to your google account (if you have one). This is the easiest for me.

That doesn't sound right. If you're just going round and round in a loop despite thinking you've solved it correctly, double check to make sure browser extensions like uBlock (or other ad-blockers) or Noscript aren't accidentally blocking the related Javascript. That can sometimes break captchas.

And then? Is there an option to turn off the captchas for other sites?

I've had a debatte with a friend of mine recently, because he couldn't believe that I have to go through 5,6 or more iterations of this captcha to "solve" it. He seldom needs more than two. I've showed him how I solve it, and no matter how I approached the captchas (clicking street signs with pole, without pole, tiles with only a corner of signs or cars or whatever) it always lasted more than five iterations.

So either are there different "difficult" versions of this captcha on different sites (my friend solves the captcha on other sites than gog), or for different browsers (user agents) or different cookie settings etc. I don't know.

Btw, I made a thread about this too:

I know it is hard to accept the truth, but... Marko, you must have realized by now. You are a robot.

Joking aside, I have the same problem. Somethimes things go smoothly, sometimes they don't, and I have no idea why.
I both passed and failed captcha tests by including and excluding the poles.
Usually though after a few failed attempts the kind of captcha changes, like "click until there are no more cars".

The problem is not that google is not recognizing what I chose - th eproblem is that I don't know what I should click on. I have no problems whenever it is asking me to pick a car or whatever but these street signs simply don't work.

And then you try the captcha again while you login-in a google service. In my experience its faster. I'm using a small ISP (dynamic ips)and this the only non-vpn solution for me.
I usually select the poles too for these kind of captchas. And partial signs too. Usually works at the 2nd or 3rd try.

The really crazy thing is: bots are by now better at solving Captchas than humans are. Which makes Captchas utterly pointless.

In my experience:-

Street Signs - The whole captcha is one single picture split up into tiles / squares. You click on every square where there's a piece of the sign. If there's a piece of the sign overlapping with a pole, then you click that. Otherwise if it's mostly empty pole, you can ignore it. See attached image "captcha1" of a successful solution for an example where it ignores the pole. Sometimes you'll have to repeat it anyway not because it's incorrect but simply because it may just require 2-5x successful solutions. If in doubt, click the pole, but the test is designed to fail if you click too much that isn't a sign.

Car / Bus / Store-fronts - Unlike static signs, each tile / square is a complete picture. You basically just click on each square where there's a car / bus / store-front. Clicking on one makes it disappear and gets replaced with another. If the new tile is another car, etc, then you click on it again. You basically click on everything that contains a car (including refreshed tiles) until there are no cars, etc, left.

Edit: I agree though that the rules aren't exactly explained very well, nor appear to be that strict from one puzzle to the next.

I get the feeling that maybe the translation isn't perfect and what it asks for in English isn't as clear as what it asks for in German.

But there still is a bit of sign in the lower left you did not click on.

Probably not the solution since I use the English captchas as well here in Germany.

Yep,had the same problem on other sites and will try disabling AdBlock next time.I think the person that invented reCaptcha should be tarred and feathered then flogged to an inch of their life then rolled in salt and thrown into a pit of bullsalt eating ants.

Don't click on poles, just on tiles with sign and corners don't count.
