The game looks like crap on modern screens. I remember it looked awesome on crt monitors.

Anyone knows if there is any method for this particular game, or maybe something in general that one can use

Add scanlines? Just use dgVoodoo to play in whatever 4:3 resolution you want. I'm currently playing it at a 1920x1440 without issues.

You could try something like Reshade though to be honest old games sometimes looked better on older monitors because 1. The nature of CRT technology hid the ugliness better, and 2. CRT monitors were lower resolution & had a smaller visible area (typically 14-19"), and simply adding fake scanlines, etc, to a game played on a modern large HD TFT won't really replicate all those benefits.

that mod doesn't look like it has scanlines

it will be nice to play on crt but i don't have one. got rid of all that I've had :| who knew that one day one will want to play old games.
