idbeholdME: Just a random question. I assume most people are carbon since it's the default but I prefer aluminium. What about you? :P
See screenshots for details.
If this is about what color theme one uses on GOG (forums), I use the one that is NOT the default.
That way I can easier see whether I am already logged in to my GOG account or not, by just that color scheme. No other reason for choosing it. Naturally you can also see it in the upper banner if your username is there, but if the web browser window is small and/or zoomed in, you don't see your username there. The color coding is a more visible cue whether you are logged in, or not.
Generally I like darker themes because they are easier for the eyes... but if I want maximum clarity, e.g. reading text in a small terminal (putty ssh or whatever), I choose black text on white background. It is more visible and readable also to others if I e.g. share the screen to others in MS Teams or Skype or whatever.
If I have several ssh sessions open to many machines and my meaning is to copy stuff from one to another or use one machine as an example, I tend to "color code" the ssh terminals (e.g. ssh putty) this way:
- white text on black background: this is the "origin" or example machine; DO NOT EDIT OR CHANGE ANYTHING ON THIS MACHINE.
- black text on white background: this is the target machine where you are supposed to run the commands and edit config files and whatever.
That way I don't accidentally do changes to the wrong machines (servers)... Now black background means in my mind "Do not change anything on this machine".
