I'm under 18 currently and don't have a bank account. Is there another way to pay on gog?

Paysafecard is one option.

There's a support article listing all available payment options but it's far more useful to just add something to your shopping cart and go to checkout to see what's actually available in your country.

You could talk to your family and ask them to send some funds to your GOG wallet (but when it's there, you can only use it for GOG purchases and you can't transfer it back).

I'm using paypal on a prepayed credit card. Cards for minors do exist.

Be warned every time Americans brought up a prepaid card on this forum, it's because it didn't support international transactions. They couldn't use it to buy anything from GOG, a Polish company.

That's why I got my prepayed card for exactly that reason. You are on the safe side if your card works with MasterCard/Visa or Visa Electron.

Minors can have bank accounts actually, so either you don't have any actual income to justify having an account or you're like me a couple years ago and see no actual reason to have one. Or maybe you're actually too young. If you can't have a bank, then maybe consider having someone with mutual trust to use their card. Or have someone gift you games from their account.

you should just use your prepayed credit card without paypal, paypal require to be 18 and if they know you are under age they will close your paypal account and you will not be able to open a new account when you are 18, so just close it now and reopen it when you are not underage anymore.
You can use your prepaid card anyway on gog without paypal.

Is being under 18 relevant here, are you not allowed a bank account? I'm just curious as I'm pretty sure my parents took me to make one when I was around 15-16. I didn't have any income at that point but it was just a handy thing to have for when I needed it.

To answer the question, you could try various pre-paid/gift cards. If you use Paypal (a US company) as the payment processor then it should work fine.

I don't believe age matters. I got my first account when I was 12 but that was before debit cards existed. It's possible that you need to be a certain age to use one.

PayPal and a Visa Debit card are all I use.
If the required money doesn't exist in the account, the transaction fails.Your folks could do such for you, as it is a limiting arrangement. And if you want or need greater control your end, just relocate the funds to the GOG Wallet, though once there you cannot refund them.

As for accounts a parent can open a bank account for their child from a very young age. I had a couple in my name through primary school. The issue then becomes what access they can have at what age. There are likely restrictions for instance whether they can withdraw funds without parental approval and the like. But the closer you get to 16, the less influence parents have on the accounts unless they are signees or it's a special trust fund or something.

There are indeed age requirements for debit cards. For instance from Australia's Commonwealth Bank (Mastercard variety):

Its been about 25 years at this point, but I recall I had some kind of special bank account with my local banking institution when I was a minor. I even put a little money in it from babysitting and tutoring.

Given that the legal working age here is 16 (and I think it is the same in the US) and you got to put the money somewhere (most employers do direct deposit nowadays) it seems likely that minors having a bank account would be widely supported.

However, my experience was pre-internet (before Paypal and other online payment systems) and I didn't have a credit card at the time, so making use of it online may be another matter entirely.

From what I recall the problem wasn't that GOG is a Polish company but rather that they were registered and had their bank accounts in Cyprus and apparently that place is blacklisted by various credit card companies.

Wikipedia doesn't mention Cyprus on GOG's article anymore, though, so I guess all of that may have changed at some point?
