I typed a good review on this site, in the store page, for the game The Technomancer.
Unfortunately whenever I click to post it, nothing happens. Like it isn't even a button.

It is under the word limit and there are no swear words.

What gives?

Yes, welcome to the review system, would you like a combo meal with broken formatting?

Never edit your reviews on the site. So many things can go wrong. Use a small editor like Mousepad instead.
I posted a review on Wednesday and it worked.
Except the title and the main text, you also have to press on the how many stars you want (in case you missed it).

Who said anything about edit? I typed it and pressed on the button to post it, nothing happens.

I have posted several reviews in the past. This one just doesn't work for me. I am aware of the stars yes.

prepare (written material) for publication by correcting, condensing, or otherwise modifying it.

He's saying never write the review in gog's review system, since it's so shoddy, you may end up losing it. Write your reviews in a notepad and copy and paste it.

how does this....suggestion help me with the store page not accepting the click on submit?

It means your effort won't be wasted if the post fails, gets eaten, or vanishes at a future unspecified time.

None of us really have the ability to diagnose what might be wrong with the review system if anything.

I think when this has happened to me it ended up being because I didn't notice that the title was too long. But if the title isn't too long, you have entered some number of stars, and the main post isn't too long, then I'm guessing it is some wayward filter. I've had some random posts in the forum fail to post lately and they just never post. No obvious issue and small edits don't help but major edits make it possible to post. Possibly the same could be happening in reviews as well. I can't even guess so far what might be triggering it.

The other nice thing about saving a copy of your review locally is to just have a collection of your reviews, Unless your memory is much better than mine you may want to know in a few years (or months :/) what you thought of a particular game and it is often easier to look up if you have a collection of reviews locally (or sometimes the review might no longer be there, such as if a remake replaced the older version of a game).

Some filter causing it is my guess too, though I can't for the life of me get what word could possibly be the problem. Annoying.
Problem solved.

I don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but I tried a bit earlier and it worked while I made two changes.

I changed the title

from
A solid action-rpg game with a couple of issues

to
Very good, but be careful.

and also I changed a small part from
(8 core 16 threads)

to
(8C 16T)

The previous title was a bit long, that was your issue. They don't give us much so it is easy to go over. I'm glad you got it posted.
Saw 47 characters in that title, thought that couldn't possibly be long, could it? But guess so, since the limit is apparently 40...
Guess this is just another moment when I'm baffled by GOG's character limits for reviews and wonder how can anything even remotely... passable fit into them.
I didn't know there was a limit of 40 characters. It would be nice to be told there is, or at least warn you as to WHY a review can't be posted.

Oh well.

It does say though...

I admit that I prefer GOG's characters' number limit, than no limit at all. I remember reading an RPG's reviews and my eye was caught by a very long review (from back when there wasn't a limit). The person that had written it, not only wrote at much length about the game, but also when he finished he added "Now let me tell my opinion about other RPGs too"!!!!! And he continued in that same review, pointing his opinion about other games too!!!
No-no-no! People need to be concise in their descriptions. To know when to stop.
