Hey all! Unfortunately the update will come at a later date, most likely the second week of May. The silver lining here is that it may contain additional bug fixes. Our apologies for that inconvenience.

Reaperman66: mm only bought this as it was a deal and thought the GOTY edition included everything in new update.

considering refund now
Me to now that I have read through the forums and seen this version may not get all the goodies.
I have to say, the lack of communication around this issue is incredibly frustrating. I had to search for the topic on Google to find out that, an update every other PC platform seems to have received, is delayed -- with the topic posted on this forum, rather than an email explaining what's going on.
Regarding Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update:

... second week of May ...
... it may contain ...

Ha! I see what you did there.

I'm not understanding the demand here, it's barely a patch. All I see is new bugs and broken mods, all for a few reskins.

It's nice to hear it's coming to GOG though.

A half-assed patch from the sounds of it. "I never asked for this."™
Is that like that big Skyrim update that IIRC nuked compatibility with several hundreds of mods?

Jacob08M: the update got delayed on gog because they want to remove the cc content from it so we get the "no cc no drm" update

Rezev: Than we can't call this "update" but "patch" :|

Also just looked at Steam community discussions for Fallout 4. Seems like people are pretty angry and upset about update - longer loading times, crashes, ultrawide not working, passing 60 fps is a lie as game still runs too fast, and loads of more negative comments.

For me it seems that Bethesda rushed quick crap update for PC's (as it's clear that main focus was on consoles) to boost their Fallout sales due to Amazon TV series.
Then I guess it really isn't a matter to be upset about. Bethesda just wanted to keep their game alive with the show(which succeeded) and the update (which for now, did not succeed)

Never really played a lot of bethseda games, but from what I'm hearing is that the update nad cc content really isn't worth the fuss. Also like many other people said, maybe gog will add it. Mods fix a ton of issues that the update barely touches

Did it least fix the issue with the one graphics setting crashing the game after a few minutes of playing it?

Were people seriously expecting any better from Bethesda Softworks?
I'll download the game soon to uncheck the auto-update. It's great that I still have time!

Could you, fine people of chat, help me with some information:

How will I be able to play the version of the game that don't have this patch at a later time?

What to set or select when or after installing?

Thanks for the answer(s) in advance!
Can the kind folks at GOG *please* keep the last version of the pre-"update" game available in offline downloads indefinitely as well as offering the "next gen" version which breaks most mods and adds lots of new bugs? I would love to have the last "non-nextgen" version preserved in my account (especially since I don't use Galaxy so rollbacks don't count).

Download and save the game files.

# If you want to use your internet browser:
-> Games
-> Click on "Fallout 4"
-> Click on : Download offline backup game installers
Download game files only. Useful if you anticipate limited internet access, or want to have a backup. These installers don't support auto-updating, nor on-line features

You can download the game files from here.
Download the .exe file as well as the .bin files to a folder. Keep all these files in the same folder and all you have to do is run the .exe when you want to reinstall the game.

# If you want to use "GOG Galaxy", choose the game in your library and you should have a tab called "Bonus" or something like that (not the "install" option). It is the last tab on the right.
My software is configured in French and it is the "bonus" tab that I must select.

With either of these methods, you can put the offline installers of your games on external storages if you wish. You can use these files whenever you want.
This way you will always have the current version.

Version : 1.10.163.0
Size : 32 Gb

Edit : The Unofficial patch for this version will be removed from Nexusmods soon.

"For use on GOG versions of Fallout 4. Will be removed once that version has been updated."
