Update for Baldur's Gate 3

With Patch 8 they added PlayFab support which in turn brings TURN relay support for cross-platform play. This can also be used to bridge GOG-to-GOG and GOG-to-Steam players that use CGNAT/DS Lite.
The only disadvantage is that it cannot be used anonymously and requires a Larian account to use.

Such functionality however is still missing in Divinity: Dragon Commander, Divinity: Original Sin 1 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 which all support Steam Datagram Relay and no non-Steam, cross-platform equivalent.

Alright, I just found out that Baldur's Gate 3 on GOG doesn't show Japanese as available language even though it was confirmed it's actually available. This comes after MarkoH01 confirmed that Succubus on GOG comes with Hungarian despite not being shown in the store page. This means we should keep in mind to verify missing languages whenever possible rather than just trusting the store page.

Mistake on my part, I corrected it

The link you gave is for Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, not BG3.

But yes, comparing both store pages, BG3 misses japanese localization on GOG at least in mention.

Yes, about that I've noticed that Chef: A Restaurant Tycoon Game is still on the list because of the lack of Spanish language but it's there (for a while now) even if it doesn't appear on the GOG game's page.

So I think the game is really complete.

I'm more than certain that GOG has dozens, if not hundreds, of games with outdated or incorrect information in their game cards. Since only the GOG staff can update them directly, and not the developers or the publisher, the system is highly prone to errors.

That is correct : sometimes i notify the support of some, but very very rarely those pages are corrected. Not enough manpower, that is said the most important is to have games up to date with a changelog (too often its missing / or outdated : which doesn't help to check if a game is updated or not)
Does the System Shock remake qualify?

While GOG technically has all the same updates as Steam, version 1.2 (released in April 2024) completely broke achievements on GOG despite including the change: "Achievements are properly awarded when completing the requirements".

Update 1.2 was meant to fix 4 achievements; one was completely broken, another had a buggy condition but could still be unlocked under the right conditions (and was actually easier to unlock that way), and two had impossible conditions due to bugs. While update 1.2 did fix all achievements on Steam as promised, it completely broke all achievements on GOG, which remain broken a year and two additional patches later.

You can easily tell how bad it is by comparing Steam's achievement statistics to GOG's:

The most common achievement, Through The Looking Glass, which is awarded at the very start of the game, has an unlock rate of 90.4% on Steam, but only 25.9% on GOG. It used to be higher, but after 1 year of achievements not working, that percentage has dropped a lot.

Fortunately, a GOG community member released a fix, consisting of a config file and a couple of DLLs, including a missing DLL without which the game can't tell GOG about any unlocked achievements.

In my opinion, that the game needs a community member's contribution to achieve feature parity with Steam should be proof enough that GOG is being treated as a second class citizen.
I nominate Doom 2016 for inclusion over the missing multiplayer (though they had the decency to put a note about this on the game page).

This is a bit of a fringe case, I think.

On the one hand, yes, I completely agree with your point. On the other hand, when I started the second class list ages ago, I made a conscious decision not to include games over missing cheevos (IIRC gog hadn't launched Galaxy at the time, meaning none of the games had cheevos, so pretty much every other game would have qualified for the list by default). Unless this unwritten rule has changed, it would be somewhat unfair to include this title over cheevos that don't work, while omitting cases where cheevos were never implemented in the first case. And including missing cheevos in the list would open up a whole new can of worms, I'm sure we'd be talking hundreds, possibly thousands of cases needing to be added.

No, this case is different I think, cause you are advertised that there are chievos and the latest update claims to have fixed them, but they don't work. This is where I'd say it belongs on the list cause an advertised feature remains broken only on GOG.

On second thought, just wanted to share there was a game which advertised Japanese text on GOG but didn't have it. After I emailed its publisher, they came back to me saying it didn't have the language and a little while later Japanese text was no longer advertised. Even if it's true devs can change the info directly, they can still have GOG do it I think.
