Just curious. They usually run some connect games with sales, but I can't seem to find even my linked account. Is it still active for everyone else?
https://www.gog.com/connect

page still loads for me and displays my GOG and Steam accounts as being linked, but I guess it isn't a thing for this summer sale

I'm kinda disappointed but not really surprised. I'd be curious to hear from a blue what their plans are for GOG Connect or if they're shelving it for the time being or what

Its not a part of this sale (well, not yet at least).

Check the blue posts in the sale news thread.
it's pretty much something the devs have to agree on so it's won't be every sale, it's something thats at lest being nice to gog users. so ya it's still a thing but not every sale will have it
(Don't tell anyone, but the next titles on Connect are going to be Diablo and Warcraft II) Shhh...

Probably the plans are that there are no (long-term) plans.

Connect is meant to entice Steam-only users to create a GOG account. Its "raison d’être" (like the Belgians say) is not to make GOG/Steam-users buy (or "kaufen", like the Switzerlandians say) more Steam games, thinking "I guess I will later get also the GOG version for free through GOG Connect".

Since you (and me) already have a GOG account, we aren't really the target audience of GOG Connect, even if we might occasionally benefit from it. I don't since I haven't bought new Steam games for ages, even from Humble Bundle. I have obtained a couple of free GOG games through it in the distant past, a couple of Steam games I had obtained in Humble Bundles.

yes, indeed. all those who have Diablo and Warcraft II on Steam will be able to unlock them here as well. In fact, it is already active, but it only show for those who do have those games there.
<cough cough> I got the joke without checking or looking things up :-)

It just took a while for the thoughts to connect in my brain.

Hi. I bought this game, Ultimate Genral, on Tuesday and have played it 4 times. I'm not a newbie and have played strategy games and studied the ACW for over 40 years. The first thing I don't like is having GOG any where near my operating system or having to open my security preferences for them. Perhaps i this is why, despite reinforcing my 'brigades' and upgarding armaments, and generaling playing the game as it was, after 5 battles I am 'relieved of my command.' In one scenario I have even thrashed Stonewall's divison. And as I did the stage ended with my defeat!. So far all this game has done is piss me off. Plus why are there no options for operating in the Western theatre apart from Shiloh?

Alan_Ingram24:
Your post is in the wrong place as it has nothing to do with the matter the thread is about.

Sorry do not know the answer to the one question I understood in your text. Hmm, maybe you are also talking about the Galaxy client? That one should not be necessary in order to play single player games. The majority probably use it but I do not.

I believe a blue said in that thread they have little planned re: connect. :\
The GOG Connect wiki doesn't show any games on GOG Connect since 2017 and I haven't seen any GOG Connect titles in forever (I check periodically), but...

I've been told by other forum members recently that there have in fact been titles showing up from time-to-time and that GOG Connect is indeed alive.

Like you, I thought GOG Connect was dead.
