I have played the Witcher 3 twice.

I did genuinely enjoy and love every piece of the game.

Every time I play the Witcher 3 I feel happy, like there is no game that could make me happier.
But as many times I gain pleasure playing TW3 I also feel sad, guilty …

It's because I'm a poor guy, so I couldn't just afford the TW3 price.
Well, my life is not the easiest and most comfortable one …

And because I just couldn't afford to buy TW3, I downloaded the cracked version from torrent and finished it twice.

Playing the cracked version of the game for free made me sad and broke my heart every time …
I genuinely loved CDPR and TW series.
CDPR as folks who really love and care for the player base, making games with passion and love, guys who making games and do love what they are making.
TW as franchise got my attention and a spacial place in my heart from the first time I saw The Witcher 1 and decided to play it.

Today I'm very happy.
I've been saving my money for a long time for now.
And did finally afford to buy the TW3 GOTY edition at a discount.

I did really wish that I was rich, so I can buy the game at its full price without a discount, so I can support the devs as much as I can …

I don't care about steam, no matter how big its game library is and how low its regional price is, I love the “feature” of global price in gog and hate steam regional price even though it serves my personal advantage.

Furthermore, I'm now planing to save money for the next time so can afford to buy cyberpunk, I want to support those beloved devs as much as I can, and I do really hate playing a cracked version of their beloved games …

I'll ensure that I'm not playing cyberpunk until I get the enough amount of money to buy it first, and not repeating the same mistake with TW3.

Thanks.

Well ... congrats.

And fingers crossed for Cyberpunk.

Nah. There's nothing wrong with only paying what one can afford.

There's also nothing wrong with hoovering up any freebies given away - thanks, Epic, for losing money on me! ;)

Don't feel bad for the original talented developers for playing it for free as they're more interested in whether you loved it or not, first and foremost. Rather, feel bad for them because of their bad treatment by their CEOs/leaders. That includes Endless(tm) and prolonged crunch times, unclear/mixed messages, crappy management and lackluster payment. The list is rather long and painful, same goes for when Cyberpunk 2077 was under development.

Thing is, developers comes and goes and almost everyone from the Witcher 3's period is long gone. They got payed then and there, so any money you give them now goes to the company, mostly new developers and future projects. Just like paying for Doom 93 isn't going the talented original developers any longer.

And yes, getting a game at discount or by freebies from others is not a crime and perfectly ok. Many here, including myself have been giving away copies (redeemable codes) of W3 because it still is one of the best rpg games out there. Good games generate money themselves and it's proven a company won't loose money if some plays the game for free.

Also, don't forget that CDProjekt started out with cracked CD's, I mean, it's literally in the name, but good for you for finally getting a "true license" to continue killing trolls, harpies and other nasty monsters. ;)
