Like the thread says, I need to find the history folder on my PC. I know where it is (C: users/appdata/local/microsoft/windows/history), but the problem is that the folder is not there, or I am not allowed to see it.

Thanks for trying to help, but like I said, I cannot see that folder. I do not know why, and I looked everywhere on the net and could not find an answer, so I thought I would also try on a few forums to see if I find an answer.

Elisebathe:
If you're having a problem with entering a folder or do as you want with it:

EDIT: Yes of course, use the folder options to unhide windows system folder/files:

Are you sure, because the path you game and the picture you attached are looking at local/Microsoft for a folder history and you should look under windows of that area and then you will see history. Notice the difference:
Mine:
/Appdata/Local/Microsoft/Windows/History

Yours:
/Appdata/Local/Microsoft/History

Oh, and in folder options make sure you have selected show hidden folders and files.

Don't worry, if it's Windows 10 then CIA probably has a copy saved ;)

(seriously, check nightcraw1er's post above. You seem to be in the wrong subfolder).

Sorry about that, I thought I wrote windows as well, but I did not. I edited my post.
It is really weird because I can see what is in the history folder with WinDirStat, but I cannot find the folder on my computer.

Did you enable "show hidden folder and files"?

sanscript: ...
Tried to do that, but alas, no change.

I never had "don't show hidden folders" ticked, so yes, show hidden is ticked.

It's *not* enabled by default in Windows installation.

What happens when you type it manually into the location bar:

C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\History

It was for me, but then again, my PC came with a pre-installed Windows, so maybe someone that worked at that store changed it.
Silly question: Are you looking for something within the History folder? I;m wondering if maybe your computer has placed whatever it is elsewhere.

Never heard of a History folder before. I do have one. Mine just has shortcuts to files I have uploaded and a few shortcuts to videos I;ve watched although not all of them. Weird.....

What happens if you type into your explorer:
%localappdata%/Microsoft/Windows/History

That should open the folder in question, then you can go up one level from there.

Wait, what? It was that easy? Now I feel really stupid.
Thanks for that, it helped me find what I needed.
